Probably a few thousand. We have Spotify now bro, you only need to D/L the ~1% of music that's not on a streaming service these days.

Honestly, fuck Spotify and all the other streaming services. Fuck iTunes taking 50p out of every £1 spent.

yeah fuck spotify, not trying to use all my data plan on it. not to mention what happens when you're out of service? or if something isn't available on there? or if you like seeing artists get paid? or dont want to give your social media info to more companies? way more flaws than benefits

I have Spotify but I still buy cds. I like getting in my car and putting in a CD and listening from start to finish. I also like supporting the artist and having the physical item.

I have about 35/40 GB of music in 320/v0 bitrate, I think that's about 5.000 songs.

Lately I've been leaving my iTunes on shuffle and it's a lot more satisfying than listening on Spotify. Better quality CD rips + my own personal curated collection. I'm nowhere near 44,000 songs tho, jesus that's insane.

Anyone know why Spotify doesn't offer live albums (Scabdates, Chili's Slane or Hyde, etc..)?

Weird, probably the labels don't have those specific rights for some reason? Because I can think of two recent live albums and both are available. Soundgarden's last live album (I think it was released in 2012) is available as well.

I've been on a bit of a purge lately though.  I think I've lobbed off about 2k songs in the past few months.  Certain things I just know I'll never listen to again.

The 30+ gigs of Volta material though....that's staying.

OK lads, put your hard-ons away. It's just a convenient way to listen to music. I still buy vinyl and go to plenty of gigs.

"It was convenient" is this generation's "I was just following orders". As with the Nuremberg trials, it's not a defence :P

I listen to so much music in the long term musicians will probably get more money from me from streams that if I bought all their albums. Plus it's not like they keep 100% of physical release sales, specially if we are talking about bands on big labels.

I don't think that's a valid reason, I'm sure there are a lot of albums there that have only been released digitally.

Yeah. Haven't some rappers released digital only albums? And why they have Bicycle Song but not Out of Range really annoys me.
