i was looking at lathe cuts yesterday and i doubt this factors in printing labels and jackets but it was $42 for 10 without shipping and the place i looked at seemed to turn a blind eye to copyright. if I got this rolling though it'd be face value only to people i didn't think would resell. I'm not trying to bootleg i just like the vinyl ritual and the music

Unicorn skeleton mask should get a vinyl version because of the album cover. WGBTT and USM dont have their album cover reworked

Those photos look like they'd belong on a mortal kombat select screen.

Circular tracklist on the CD looks better IMO:

i like it too, hence the font and color choices. however: i think it works better on a small surface like a cd rather than something big like a vinyl, the only scan i found isn't the best, it doesnt have production credits of any kind, i feel better bootlegging 1/2 of sonny's work as opposed to 100% of it, and i enjoy graphic design

speaking of the CD, does anybody have copies of you're welcome, this, saber, and corazon? i've always wanted to see what the insides and cds look like but ive never been able to find any pics

I think I do, I’ll have to check when I get home. And I would be SO down for a bootleg of ANY of his albums. You should all the ones that were never pressed. Even the ones that are CD only. I’ve thought about his for years. What would be cool to do for the back cover is maybe take a small element of the front and use that as the back (if that makes sense)

i get what you're saying but even for sonny kay that's an extremely busy front cover, pulling an element out of that thing would be difficult - for me at least. this is all super hypothetical at this point too as i don't have the cash to front it atm, but its good to see there's some interest.

and thanks for posting those imfrudom, weird that they did the flap askew for saber but it's kinda cool i guess. if anybody has mantra, i'd still love to see that too

Thanks for sharing these! Sonny Kay has made some really cool art - shame Omar seems to go through life slamming doors behind him.

That inner would make for a cool back cover

If you get this off the ground, I’m so in! Along with any other albums

You know, I thought of him saying that in the awkward forced interview with BR after I posted it....

I should probably shut up because it's kinda gossipy, but I have a feeling that those beefs have something to do with Omar being the financially most successful person in the Volta family, because TMV was his band, his solo projects have the largest fanbase compared to others, his name is a brand etc, while most other members, which have contributed largely to his success, are struggeling to make a living today. It's a known fact that people were angry at him for not paying enough or giving songwriting credits where they were due, and that he dumped most of the money he earned into new projects, like films (which never got released anyway).

i could see that but at the same time if you're agreeing to be paid as a session musician (as these guys seem to have done), its your fault for agreeing to it. thats why adrian can do shit like talk about how he wasn't paid right and there are no court cases or anything. and im not saying they shouldn't have been paid more but you're gonna get what you agree upon

Yeah all of them played on so many albums and never said a thing but started saying shit only after they were kicked out
