i don't know if these would classify as "pure" world music, but they're still quite good:
Frankie Reyes - Boleros, Valses, y Mas:
Bill Laswell - Imaginary Cuba:

This album is unbelievably good. Not joking when I say its currently my rock album of the year. Could be an AOTY contender...at least top 10 so far.

I know about most of this from Carson McWhirter, the guys from Golden, Finders Keepers Records and Cedric.

Reminds me of a more on the rails Boredoms. Dig it so far.

Oh my God, I love you.
Incredible EP, the mix of tribal and visceral sounding beats is the embodiement of "cool" in my books.
Really stoked to have discovered this. The second song had me thinking "this is the kind of shit Zach Hill would do if he went down the afrobeat road".
Thanks for this splendid listen

Okay, someone (you ?) posted it on the DG subereddit already ahah
Not exactly the same, but if you dig this, don't sleep on The Comet Is Coming.

Listened to this gem last Friday. So infectious. This is what dance music should be.

Analog Africa is an amazing label !
I particularly recommend this release, track four has always been a personal favourite : https://analogafrica...-faso-1974-1979

I think I didn't "get" the nihiloxica and channel the spirit stuff, but damn this Bambara Mystic Soul album is just amazing.
Thanks.

I may be repeating myself, but the Nihiloxica EP might be the sickest shit I've listened to lately. Thanks again for sharing !
haha same, i've been listening to that first track a lot. the way it ebbs and flows is really cool
