i'm quite a big fan as well.
joeri said it best, they're the only nu-metal band i still care for.
steal this album pwns the hardest so far. hopefully their new one will rock just as much.
and yes, his voice is very unique, in a very awesome way.
Yeah, I'm not afraid to say that Steal This Album is their best either. They completely meant it too when they said that the songs simply didn't make it onto Toxicity because they didn't fit, rather than not being good enough. Steal This Album is insanely good metal.

If you like serj, check out Serart. That band is very experimental made up of serj and his armenian buddy.
Serart freaking own beyond belief
i've heard they are good.
the band's on their personal labels suck so much though, especilly the guitarist's.
kinda like they went out of their way to find a hard-to-like band.

When thinking about it, I find that I'm actually excited to hear their new record. I'm praying for it not to be boring. I just hope it's not the infamous "chugga-chugga" sound that keeps popping up everywhere.
Hahaha, well fuck that.
After seeing them on Friday, I can't say I'm a big fan, but at least, I think they put on a good show. Plus, I think "Question" is a good song on all accounts. I really was hoping that Mesmerize was more in that vein but I doubt that's ever going to happen. But I still respect what they do. I'm just waiting for them to put out an album where it feels like they really let loose.
But Serart is bad ass. I hope Serj does more with that because I'm enjoying it immensely.

Mezmerize/Self Titled
Toxicity
Steal this Album
But Mezmerize shows that they are moving in a more melodic direction. Is it just me or are they exhibiting some proggy elements in this album? Such as the song "Question" is in 5/4 or 10/8 or something... for certain parts, anyways, and then it moves into 3 or 6 or one of those. And they're definitely moving away from classic SOAD sound to something a little bit more refined. I actually rather enjoy it, myself.
But anyways, that's my cup of tea
