I heard that's John Frusciante's son in the background.

Probably the best Mars Volta video we ever got, in hind-sight. Love the Hayao Miyazaki themes.

Record still holds up as a masterpiece!

Completely blew my mind and changed the way I listed to music.

Unfortunately lost interest in TMV over the years, but I always have a HUGE place in my heard for this record

You don't cry when you listen to a masterpiece like Deloused;  you celebrate.

I can actually get behind the statement that this is the greatest album of all time, or at least of this era of music. It really is mind boggling the space they reached, where every sound could never be wrong, everything feels so free and spontaneous, yet tightly controlled, and its one of those records where you will never stop hearing new things layered in the music.

Very true words. Still it saddens me when I realize I may never again find music as life-changing as the first three volta albums were and still are to me.

I've been back and forth on the question, but I think De-Loused is honestly my favourite TMV album. It was the first Volta album I ever heard and nothing has ever shocked me that way since. Frances and Amp are masterpieces as well, and while their impact was heavy I was already sold on TMV and was approaching them differently. I had no fucking clue what I was getting into with De-Loused, and I will never forget the feeling it gave me when I first heard it.

Love the consequence of sound article.  I wrote one for Riff 'N Ralk, a much more personal reflection than an analysis of the album.  Will be enjoying this album today.  Can't believe its been 10 years.

Great article man. Makes me remember the time when I first heard Frances the Mute, that and later watching the Electric Ballroom performance changed my perception of music forever.
