Classic band, one of the best bands of all time.

Their four "classic" albums are completely flawless and without a doubt the best electronic music I have ever heard.

Autobahn
Trans-Europe Express
Man Machine
Computer World

ah, what a great band

I love Kraftwerk. I have two pins of theirs on my jacket.

My personal favourite is "Computer World" (I own copies of both the german and english versions of this LP). It has to be the best party album ever. There isn't one song on it that isn't danceable.

"The Man Machine" is amazing, as well. One time, I got really drunk and stumbled down the streets of downtown Ottawa, singing "Neon Lights". That was one of the funnest nights of my life.

Also, one of my bands did a live cover of "Trans Europe Express" (and "Metall Auf Metall", if you want to split hairs). It lasted for about half an hour and was pure awesome.

It's really too bad that their newest LP and single suck shit...

I'd probably say that Computer World is my favourite.. That and Trans Europe Express. The former being so much fun and the latter being so dark.

Favourite lyric - "I'm the operator of my pocket calculator... by pressing down a special key it plays a little melody"

I always felt like "The Man Machine" was their darkest.

'The Hall Of Mirrors'
'The Model'
'The Man Machine'
'The Robots'

All fairly dark songs.

I was actually thinking of Hall Of Mirrors, I thought that was on TEE. I guess Man Machine is their darkest then!

Oh, you're right. I'm sorry/stupid. "The Hall Of Mirrors" is a fucking great track, though.

If I had to listen to a synthesizer-based band, I'd choose Fischerspooner.

Kraftwerk is good for a laugh, but their music stinks.

Fischerspooner are god awful. At least Kraftwerk actually performed their own songs live, instead of lip syncing with an already god-awful backing track.

Hell, at least Kraftwerk created something worth listening to, instead of just 'Oh, I get it. It's supposed to sound like the cd is skipping.'

Also, it is not the good 'cd skipping' sound, a-la Squarepusher. It is the shitty 'cd skipping' sound of a skipping cd.

I too hate Fischerspooner. I dont know how you can imply that Kraftwerk are more of a laugh than the ridiculously camp and uncreative Fischerspooner. Strange

it's fucking wicked. I want to get something else by them, but I just haven't done so yet.

I really like Autobahn, the Model, Computer World, Pocket Calculator off the live disc. especially the Model, I love the vocals.
