I LOVE Swans, been listening to them alot lately. "Children of God" is an absolutely awesome album. I highly recommend it if you like art-rock, no wave type music. Anyone else a fan?

A friend of mine played guitar for them on a few tours years back and hooked me up with a couple of gigs with them as the lighting designer/director. Michael flew me to a few shows to work with them in france and portugal, that was like the first time i had ever been to those two countries. I remember sitting in a dressing room in paris talking with him about some production ideas and Jarbo standing a few inches away from me completely naked sorting out her stage clothes. Very surreal experience.

THE SEX IN YOUR SOUL WILL DAMN YOU TO HELL

brilliant band. Children Of God, Greed and Holy Money are my favourites of theirs. They were one of those bands who just couldn't release a bad album... well, until they were signed to that major label and were forced to release one album of crapness (The Burning World), surprisingly the label dropped them after that. Most Swans fans don't even consider that a proper Swans album.

I think the side project Skin is among their best work

I'm listening to The Great Annilhilator on I cant remember whose recommendation, but it's great. A really interesting mix of folk and drone and no wave, I dont know if all their stuff is similar. I probably ought to have listened to it in the middle of the night though.

Oh yes they are awesome. I've only heard some mid 80s stuff but they're at the top of my cd buying list.

I've tried so hard to like Swans.. I'll probably try once again with this new record.
I do really respect what they've done though.

Soundtracks for the Blind is something special. I listened to that album while reading Naked Lunch, it was a perfect fit. That reminds me that I need to donate to the "Help the Swans record the new album" fund.
