Wow, I must say I am pleasantly surprised by this album. I've enjoyed Heritage very much and this seems like a perfect follow-up. I'm enjoying the overall sound very much, especially the clean production, Mikael's singing is fucking great here and as said above, the harmonies are very, very cool. Well, gonna be listening to this one a lot, that's for sure. And I think I'll go to see them here in Prague in October.

I'm sure many have done it before, byeah. Didn't really like the lyrics to well. Dropped out 2:45 into it, just didn't really strike me. Cool intro

BUT. I haven't completely given Pale Communion and this new one entire listens. They of course have some great passages of technical prowess that are pretty cool, but it doesn't encaptivate me throughout the standard power chord verses that have maybe a changing time signature because it's prog and the rest of the songs.
Watershed is fucking great though, god damn it The Lotus Eater is an amazing song.

Never understood why pale communion got such high praise. Heritage and damnation were both better imo.
One of the new tracks sounds like it could be a jethro tull cover.

Brand spankin new fan here, was randomly down a youtube rabbit hole about a month ago of acts that sounded like Porcupine Tree's "Fear of a Blank Planet," completely unaware of the connection between the two bands, when I thought maybe I'd enjoy some Opeth.
Listened to Ghost Reveries and it was basically love at first verse's riff.
Still Life went on to take that love even further, had a few days there where I couldn't stop Godhead's Lament from running through my mind.
Blackwater Park is still just ok after a couple of listens, has its moments, but hasn't really grown on me yet.
Really wanted to like Pale Communion with the prog label it carried, but it was just a boring listen for the most part.
Still, Still Life and Ghost Reveries have become an obsession in recent weeks, have a bunch of their earlier albums ready to go whenever I feel like it, and I may or may not report my thoughts on said albums. That is all have a nice night or morning, maybe afternoon/evening.
