I think that is the date people got for pre ordering the album with their concert ticket purchase.

I didn’t see anything about preordering the album when I bought my tickets.

That article is the only thing I have seen with any news, but it doesn’t mention a date. It seems like May 6 was just made up.

Just got my tickets to the Glasgow show. Excited AF!

Also thinking of getting tickets to the Budapest show, too. I mean, it's pretty much the last chance to see JF, right? Me thinks...

For European preorder tickets, the band put up the album for preorder with a listed expected date on may 6, 2022. That was direct on the bands website that was being sold to European fans (really anyone could / can buy). Obviously, no track list or first single of that info would be out too by now.

The may 6th date was in emails when fans were pre-ordering the album. The album isn't available for the preorder anymore. I won't be surprised if there will be 0 info until April or maybe January

I don’t see the May 6 date in my emails, so maybe it was a UK thing or something? The only thing I saw is a mention of a “preorder code.” Weird.

May 6 seems so far away!

In a Rolling Stone article Chad talks about John working hard on the album and doing guitar overdubs. Sounds like he (John) is super involved and passionate about the record. Not that I'm all that surprised but it's cool to hear.

That’s great to hear. I’m really getting my hopes up for this one. RHCP with John has always put out their best work.

He also says it's almost done (just like 6 months ago). It seems like the album is again not finished and that may 6th is probably a placeholder although I'm not sure it's gonna be out before that date

Oh this album will for sure be out and down before the tour kicks off in June. It’s these guys biggest priority and undoubtedly something they’ve put tons of time and effort into. Besides, if they have the time, no harm in using it. By all accounts, it’s wrapping up and due to them being an old school release type band, album release is gonna sync with the tour.

Great news for all of us who prefer new music when a band tours - whatever the new album is, they’ll be playing it live when they hit the stage next year vs just doing a greatest hits tour which will prolly be that much more gratifying for the band as well. Here’s hoping they bring back the long show closing jams of the last frusciante era - those were always so much fun, seeing a band walk the tight rope in front of an arena, and in the case of this tour, a stadium

I wonder how playing mostly stadiums affects Johns playing,2007 they played smaller (and way better sounding) venues,at least in Germany...
Guess less intimate feel

In the states, they’ve been an arena band stretching back to the 90s, so not a big leap them doing stadiums. I mean this is a band that headlines festivals…..so no biggie imo.

I think John’s gonna play how he’s gonna play regardless of situation and I’m excited for what he’ll bring to the table 10 years on from when he last was doing live performance

Yeah he bends a note, steps on a wah and people are like, "Amazing Solo!!" It is nice to see him jamming, but I agree with you.

As far as I love Josh, this is amazing. That's just his style which fits rhcp. He plays like 2006 and I hope I get to see rhcp live next year or in 2023

Clip sounded fine to me, and they were just jamming...who cares?

Agreed - he’s just doing a funk jam. So it’s no big deal imo as the band is basically vamping and he was out taking a solo. With rhcp, jams will inevitably be the evolving things they’ve always been so looking forward to that.

It's definitely better than Jan 2020
