both awful albums.

Incubus would be better without Brandon Boyd and their old bassist back. I appreciate the new one's from the roots but he's shit.

SCIENCE has got to be the best album they have ever relased. Not saying thier other stuff was junk, but just not my cup of tea.

Everyone has their own opinion.

One thing about Incubus is their sound has changed more than about any band I can think of. Fungus is straight funk rock. On EI they infused some heavier elements and added DJ Lyfe. On SCIENCE they turned down the funk and turned up the rock (haha sounds lame). On MY they went for a very spacey rock album. MV is a very chill and straighforward album (my least favorite though). ACLOTM sounds nothing like their other stuff. To me it is almost like stripped down prog (now theres a contradiction).

I mean atleast they keep changing and evolving.

As far as the additon of Ben goes, I really think he injected some new creative energy into the band. It seemed as though they sort of stalled with MV but on ACLOTM they seem to have found new drive and are making more interesting music.

If their current live shows are an indication of the future, I can't wait to hear their next album.

^ True. Although they could have left out all the Breaking Benjamin and Hoobastank shit... I had to reburn the CD with only the Halo tracks. It would have ended PERFECTLY with Remembrance.

Incubus are my Favorite band, next to TMV of course, and while Science is my2nd Fav, Make Yourself is prob. their best. It hits just the right amount of their old sound and what they are on Morning View ( faveorite) and Crow.

And Jose Passilas is one of the most talented rock drummers out there.

ben should have stayed with the roots. as good as martin luther and capt. kirk are, ben was something else.

Dude go to one of their shows.

They have like half hour instrumental jams.  Its pretty sweet.

View Post

I remember they did a lot of jamming back in the day (I have that live DVD where Serj Tankian plays with them at the show)...

I saw them live about a year or so ago and their was no jamming--the live show was actually pretty dry.

Not saying they sounded bad, it just didn't have much energy.

But that's just one show.

i find it pretty ironic dirk leaves the band to get into video game soundtracks and soon after, incubus puts out the shit for Halo 2

Ah, S.C.I.E.N.C.E. I was listening to it the other day. It's always going to be my favorite. I liked ACLOTM but it never really stuck with me as much as S.C.I.E.N.C.E. or Make Yourself did.

you really can't go wrong with incubus.

you want funk-rock? fungus amongus
you want hard rock? science
you want soft rock? morning view

all 5 of their studio LP's vary in music type. that is the make of an awesome band.

s.c.i.e.n.c.e. is by far the best, but i like when incubus attacks volume 1 as a close second.

im actually a bit more partial to enjoy... than i am to science - just barely. science is one of the best albums i own though. their follow ups are great albums, but they just never lived up to science and enjoy imo. but science is just one hell of a groovin album w/a great blend of rock, funk, drum and bass, and a fat chronic sack. jose puts it down on science, i still jam to it to this day, and you gotta give a nod to kid lyfe for his work at the end of the album --->> the kaaarrrraaaateeee kiiiiddd.

man, fungus, enjoy, and science were never blown up on the radio. you'd be lucky to catch them spinning a simple shade of green at 2am.
