This guy is amazing. An inspiration to me, him and mars volta have really opened my mind to different musics that i had no idea about.

Edit from Cybrid: I merged your thread with the most recent Aphex Twin thread.

This is the fucking guy who with his first big check from royalties, BUYS A TANK and sets it on his property

Technically, it's an armoured defense vehicle. And he used to drive it around London. One time, he ran over a car with it by accident.

the man who carves his own face into Windowlicker

View Post

That is pretty much his real life face, just charicaturized for the video.

Also, I'm a huge fan of his, especially his work under the name Caustic Window.

View Post

He actually keeps the armoured defense vehicle very close to where I live. A number of my friends have seen it, and one (a friend of Aphex's nephew) got a ride in it. Aside from that, people keep telling me I look like Aphex Twin...

Also, his drumbeats are awesome.

Anyone like Aphex Twin?
I really wish he would come out with some new and crazy mixes like Come To Daddy or Windowlicker.

The Richard D. James album is easily in my top 20 records. And that isn't even to say that that's his best since everyone of his full-lengths are different and amazing. In fact, the only electronica i'd rate higher than Aphex Twin are Squarepusher or Boards of Canada.

He used to be my god, I still love him but I haven't even listened to one song from "26 remixes for cash".
My favorite record of his is "I care because you do".

You guys are morons. Don't believe the bullshit about his tank (or "armored defense vehicle"), him living in a bank, etc etc.

that said, the man is a genius, and the Analord series should be a reminder to this man's unsurmountable contributions to electonic music.

This guy's still the shit. I've been listening to him again this past week and I'm loving it. If only Fruity Loops could really be in the same ballpark as the stuff he does....

I like Venetian Snares but I don't find his stuff as versatile, mood-wise.
