I disagree. Bungle matured as a band after the self titled, whereas DFD has been making the same type of stuff since they started. I hate DFD's old stuff but Committed to a Bright Future (I think that's the title) was a good effort.

Funny, I don't recall seeing any of Patton's shit for sale at Hot Topic. I'm disappointed that one one poster listens to John Zorn.

My name is taken from mike patton name in mr. bungle self titled album..Vlad Drac - The Singer.

I think it's one of the most beautiful album ever.
But the best of mr. bungle is when you listen to their live recordings...the star wars music in squeeze me maccaroni is outstanding, they used to sang a very old italian song called "24.000 baci", they played the Super Mario theme, i mean they were awesome.

I got Mr Bungle's debut album a few months ago on the strength (ha, what an odd word to describe these songs) of My Ass Is On Fire and Stubb (A Dub), and I love it. I got their second a few weeks later but haven't listened to it as much, but I'm very curious to hear California.

Anyway. So the lyrics aren't exactly mature but to me Mr Bungle are/were one of the most interesting bands around...so their debut lacked focus but in that album focus isn't really what it's about, there's some killer basslines and while I think some of the tracks are a little long-winded they're pretty much the perfect antidote to a day of listening to 'normal', relatively bland music, something to spice things up a little! I'll probably grow out of them eventually but...don't care. I love them right now.
