Steady As She Goes and Broken Boy Soldier are about the only things that save this album for me.

After quite a few listens I'm pretty convinced it's pretty meh.

Those songs are definite highlights, but I'd still probably rate the whole album a bit higher than "meh". I'm not much of a White Stripes fan, so I slept on this album for while...but I'm glad I finally checked it out.

someone please download the live show from newcastle england and tell me they arent fantastic.

Broken Boy Soldier is such a tremendous song when they play it live, and blue veins gets taken to a whole new level.

But the more i've listened, the more its become neutral towards me.

I'd love to see em live though.

I saw them last week in Vancouver and they kicked total ass.
They extended Blue Veins (which in my opinion is their best song) to like ten minutes.
They also played some new stuff and their next album is going to be so much better.

fuck this 2 pages for a mediocre alternative rock band fuck shit dammit

I actually got a pretty authentic 60's psych-country band kind of vibe from them when I gave it a spin at work the other night. I might have to give it a chance.

I keep getting steady as she goes in my head even though I've never actually listened to the entire song

You can stream some songs off the site.

The line up is Jack White, Brendan FRASIER, Patrick Keeler and Jack Lawrence.

So first impressions, guys?

I definitely want to catch them on tour.

What the hell do you people listen to besides TMV that you consider "good music"? The Raconteurs are very very good. They are almost twice as good as The White Stripes, which is very hard to accomplish. They're more of an experimental/psychedelic version of TWS.

Id agree only under the stipulation that the jack white inspired songs are twice as good (because there is now bass). I'm not too fond of some of the much more obviously benson inspired songs.

I really was surprised My Doorbell song, and the latest WS album sounds quite nice from what I've heard. But basically, I take Von Bondies anytime to any of Jack White's shit.

Song Level, sounded the most interesting, of that horribly boring stuff on Raconteurs. That Brendan guy is so much better part in that band than Jack anyways.

I hear no experimentation/psych in Steady as She Goes. Isn't the entire fanbase for this band just fans of members' previous work? I don't know I haven't listened to anything besides Steady as She Goes.

That's probably 1 of the worst songs on the record, compared to the other ones. Steady As She Goes is great, but Broken Boy Soldier is like the best song I've ever heard. Blue Veins is really psychedelic.

Blue veins is just such an amazing song. The whole album is pretty solid to me and Jack white is an incredible showman. They ruled at lolla

When is a new album/tour coming out?

I just saw their Austin City Limits preformance on PBS a few hours ago.

Re-fucking-diculous.

I had waning interest in this band recently. After seeing the "blue veins" preformance I was awestruck. The whole band is so talented and play like it.

I wish they had more brandon benson parts though. I really enjoyed his leads at the start of the show, then it was all jack white (and i love me some jack white).
