The bowed double bass that appears in many of the interludes comes from Sabado from the 'El Trio' album. The pitch is changed and it's cut up, but it's the same.

that's actually absurd. I was just thinking about how sabado is the forgotten tune from that record.... not sure  how i feel about that. one of the things i actually liked about that album was that he had done more work with bowed bass so im kinda disappointed he just reused that...

Not sure if that bowed thing is a double bass. Sounds like some middle eastern instrument, maybe rebab? Just recently I was watching an Omar interview at his studio from around Xenophanes release time, and he had a few unusual instruments there.

could be wrong but apparently it was pitch shifted. I'm a double bass player but  maybe it's something I'm unfamiliar with.

There are also similar sounds on Voluntad de los Ciegos from Aranas.

i was going to reply to this thoughtful post, but the bigger surprise was that swoon is still listening to infinity drips.

The pre-edit post was me (re)realising that the album was one long single track. It hadn't listened much to it front to back and had forgotten that.

Recently I've been toying with the idea of making a single track out of the instrumental parts. Someone more skilled than I am could easily do a clean version, mine is shoddy as can be.

that'd be cool, i tried to do it too a while back. out of all the albums with vocals, this is definitely the most heinous

To be fair, I haden't between a couple weeks after its release and this summer. But it might have been the most interesting to rediscover, a rewarding listen if you stick around and get back to it.

You have to stick around, stick around, long enough for the truth to come out.
