I wonder just how far he's going to get on his States project.

he doesn't quite have enough banjos for indiana yet.

people who live in this state need banjos...then we become reminiscing morons. whenever i hear his songs, it's like a delicate violin for most people...

So I downloaded this yesterday. Listened to it twice so far. Better than I expected, and I expected something really great. "John Wayne Gacy, Jr" could become one of my favorite songs ever. I'm really tempted to say that this is better than Michigan and Seven Swans (which both were among my top records for 2003/04), but I won't yet since I've only listened to the whole thing twice. But I bet in a couple of months I'll come to the conclusion that this one is in fact even better.

It sounds a lot more like Michigan than Seven Swans, with a ton of instruments.. a lot more strings than before, which suit the songs really well. The record clocks in at about 75 minutes, but it really never bored me at all.

Anyone else heard it already? I'm so buying this. This is my favorite record of the year so far, but there's still that Devendra Banhart album that's coming out.

I hate to admit it, but I'm disappointed that I couldn't hold out for FTM.

I think I will from now on. I got loads of great new cds to listen to.
But I'm fucking tempted...

What an amazing album... he has never dissapointed me yet. It has a much fuller sound akin to Michigan but bigger! Like Joeri said... "John Wayne Gacy, Jr" is one of the songs of the year... and I can't listen to "Chicago" without a big grin on my face.

I'm so glad that the album is as long as it is as there is so much that captivates that I never get bored. People really need to get this!
