I've only got Michigan and I love it. I think I'll pick this up.

I'm downloading it...very slowly...but I've managed to get "Come on, Feel the Illinoise" so far. I really like that song.

Oh yes, this is the album i was looking forward to. 'John wayne gacy jr'... man, really shivers my back. Sufjan made on of the most beautiful tracks ever, and it's about a serial killer. :ol_cry: I love this man, he better come back to Holland soon.

The fact that a lot of it intentionally patterns iteslf off of the Michigan template confuses me to an extent. Seems like a sideways step as opposed to going forward. However, the new lush instrumentation is terrific. I'll have to keep listening.

maybe it's a midwest template...for indiana, though, he's probably only going to use a banjo and a mouth harp.

absolutely wonderful.

though it does mirror michigan a lot.
'feel the illionoise' is a whole lot like 'detriot'

but i love the instrumentations on this album a ton. its beautiful.

Yeah, it's heading up into the hundreds on eBay because of the CD art. But yes, Sufjan Stevens is amazing, and this CD is probably my favorite of his. John Wayne Gacy, Jr. and Chicago give me the chills.

and I can't listen to "Chicago" without a big grin on my face.

edit: I just looked back at allmusic, they didn't just take down the cover art, but they removed the whole review and tracklist too

Michigan - check
Illinois - check

only 48 to go

If he releases one album per year he should be done around 2053, and he'll probably be close to 80 years old.

If he could do it he would leave a great legacy behind, and it would be quite an achievment......

But I'm not so sure it will happen

If he'd release 3 albums every 2 years he's get done somewhat faster, which shouldn't be too difficult.

I hope he does anyway, it's been great so far. I wanna here my home state :)

maybe then he'll move onto australian states. which would entail coming here. which would be good. because he would do gigs too. and i would go and be happy.
