Anyway, yeah, I think it's alright. I was just so shocked at how different it was that it still hasn't really hit me yet. Probably after a few more listens.

If you pretend that the music you're hearing is simply by a totally new band, without a name, they fit in quite beautifully with the atmosphere of the album.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who does this. I do it with most new albums I get. I try to approach it without any connotations. I tend to enjoy the music much more, at least from an aesthetic point of view. I make connections and really think about the music and lyrics afterwards, clearly. Initially, I find myself drawn into the music more if I approach it without notions of scene or past releases or anything like that.
I've only listened to this album once, so I don't have a coherent idea of it yet. Listen #2 has just started.

2) This thread could possibly have attached to it a poll concerning which of the three albums is one's favourite, to save that topic from coming up again and again?

Its still my least favourite of their albums so far, but the other two took me a long time to get into properly, especially Choirs, its odd, but with Kayo Dot, i feel more like the 1st albums are on a par now, Dowsing was easier for me to get into, but now i see them as one entity, and I will probably soon see all three as one.

I found Choirs of The Eye to be the easiest to get into.
I still love Dowsing but It never caught on as quick as COTE.

Ugh, no. That's a stupid idea for a poll AND for discussion, really. I'd rather this thread not be like TMV's main forum.
The topic should just stop coming up on its own. We don't need a poll for that.
True I'd still like to see a goddamn poll on everyones view on this.
Haha.
Only if we had the Kayo Dot Sub-Forum.
