Yeah it sucks really bad.a kayo dot sub forum is the worst idea ever. especially since there already is a kayo dot forum.
It's like a baby drunkship.

Are you talking about the one on ultimatemetal?its better than a bunch of people arguing over an album that has been out for two days, for two days.
Because that one...is ridic!!!
I'd much rather discuss what has been discussed then this....

Still doesn't mean that anything is discussed any better there.

I think much like this forum as a whole but, I hold a certain amount respect for the Kayo Dot thread and certain standards on acceptable posts and not.its not a circle jerk of idolization, it is rather just people talking about things with Kayo Dot being an overhead.
much like this forum..
Whatev whatev though
Let's talk more about the album or Kayo Dot.

To think there could be anything wrong with (reasonably) intellectual discussion of the album we've all been dying to hear for months, as soon as it finally comes out, doesn't make any sense to me. Isn't it a good thing?

I don't remember any of the mp3 links, so someone else will have to post them.
I think this album is winning me over Dowsing, because the inactive parts can be a lot more captivating than the inactive parts of Dowsing. Less silence, more movement.
Not saying that the ambience is a bad thing, I love it. It's just easier to listen to more activity.

There are no inactive parts on Dowsing.
I disagree. Immortelle And Paper Caravelle and Amaranth The Peddler are mostly inactive except for their middles.
But I guess it depends on what you perceive to be inactive.

I think every bit of both of those songs is very interesting, engaging composition.
But it's not active music.
It's little spurts of sound surrounded by silence.
I'm not talking about the compositional factor. Yes, it's very good writing. I'm talking about the amount of sonic activity.

There wasn't any silence that I felt out of place. I didn't even feel that there was that much total silence at all.

I don't think any of those pieces could be called minimalism
