yeah, like that forum is basically solely for people that actually know the band. most of the members are either former members of motw, Kayo Dot, etc.etc.

I think much like this forum as a whole but, I hold a certain amount respect for the Kayo Dot thread and certain standards on acceptable posts and not.

To think there could be anything wrong with (reasonably) intellectual discussion of the album we've all been dying to hear for months, as soon as it finally comes out, doesn't make any sense to me. Isn't it a good thing?

I think this album is winning me over Dowsing, because the inactive parts can be a lot more captivating than the inactive parts of Dowsing. Less silence, more movement.

Not saying that the ambience is a bad thing, I love it. It's just easier to listen to more activity.

This album may not be the most accessible at first glance, but it has something that makes you want to listen to it again, similar to Tartar Lamb.

I disagree. Immortelle And Paper Caravelle and Amaranth The Peddler are mostly inactive except for their middles.

But I guess it depends on what you perceive to be inactive.

But it's not active music.
It's little spurts of sound surrounded by silence.

I'm not talking about the compositional factor. Yes, it's very good writing. I'm talking about the amount of sonic activity.
