I know there is an old So Divided topic, but I figured I would make a general topic. I am listening to Source Tags and Codes right now and loving it again, for the 100th time. I am probably getting Madonna in the mail tomorrow...what should I expect? I own and love all of their albums, even their 2 newest ones. What do the good folks at The Oratory think of them?

i think madonna is good. imho not as good as stac, but good. i really like everything they did until stac.
i don't like worlds apart that much. and i don't like the new one.

i honestly can enjoy all of their albums.

STAC is their best work and probably won't be topped.

my meaning for loving Worlds Apart:

Let it Dive.

Madonna has good bits and bad bits, and the recording is pretty sketchy, but it's a good record. Source Tags is great, but I love Worlds Apart too. The new album is admittedly lacklustre, I think they even realise that.

Also get the secret of Helenas tomb EP, good stuff to be found on it.

Well its basically only Conrad left anyway. Jason only had one song on the new album, and J & C were the only ones who didnt look bored out of their skulls on the recent UK tour.

The new album absolutely sucks.

Madonna, ST&C, and Worlds Apart were all pretty awesome though. And the Secret of Elena's Tomb EP, too.

Incredible live band, very fun and intense.

I am so sad that So Divided sucks so bad. There are a few decent tracks scattered here and there but for the most part it is horrible.

i first heard this band in the early 00's when they played on some tv show that was on for a little while called farmclub.com (it had that bald guy that used to be on mtv back in the day... matt pinfield i think?). anyway they played richter scale madness and trashed their instruments and i was pretty impressed. a couple of years later source tags came out, and it was everything i dreamed of and more. that was a reaaaaaly good album. world apart was not so good, 2 or 3 solid songs but aside from that i could have lived without it. i listened to a couple of songs from the new one and they were pretty terrible, so i didn't even bother checking out the whole thing.

You've heard their two best imo. Self titled is awesome in a noisy, punky kinda way, but it has dated somewhat badly.

Did you hear that they've left Interscope? Conrad went on a huge rant about how the main guy is going out with one of the pussycat dolls and that it's all he cares about. Apparently Trent Reznor phoned Conrad and told him he should take his band elsewhere.

So divided had like 5 or 6 songs I thought were passable, so I just have those in a playlist called the So Divided EP 8)

When I saw the, on the SO DIVIDED TOUR, they only played one song off it. If that's not an admission of guilt then I dunno what is.

I saw them on August and they only played a couple of songs off So Divided. Half of them were from Worlds Apart.. I don't really like that record but all the songs sounded better live.

I love Will You Smile Again? live. It was their last song for the night and it rocked. But Madonna was missing.. not even Mistakes and Regrets or A Perfect Teenhood were played :/

They never play mistakes and regrets anymore, not for years. They played a perfect teenhood the last time I saw them but it was pretty whack, they're too old to be playing that shit. They put this huge jam in the middle of it, but it was... eh.
