am I the only person experiencing this? seems like I can't edit anything I post... unless the button moved and I'm a moron, it used to be right in between Quote and Report

edit: it seems I can edit this post for some reason... but I just checked again in other threads and still no luck.

There is a huge debate about this in neotokyo dude. NARDO decided we shouldn't be allowed to edit old posts unless you are a DONOR

You can't edit posts that are over 48 hours old. I think the issue is still up for debate. If you have a problem with this new policy then be mad at Fubar for deleting tons of old threads for no reason.

Is he the actual reason this shit happened? Don't let fubar influence your important decisions, good or bad. Also I thought this didn't effect donors. Anyway the whole thing is stupid. We should be allowed to edit/delete our own stuff

hmmm didn't know that there was already a big debate about it.... and now I'm finding that the only posts I can't edit are in Neotokyo, so I guess I can live with that.

but still, it's bullshit.

Donors can edit for a week instead of 48 hours. But maybe the indefinite edit will return. Delete will not.

Because only moderators should be able to delete posts and especially topics. Recently people were complaining that old topics had simply disappeared (e.g. Breaking Bad). It's just silly to give members the ability to randomly delete discussions that have been going on for years.

If you're asking why donors get to edit for longer periods of time than members - because by donating they already showed that they care about this place, so I don't expect them to abuse the edit function as much as others. I might be wrong.

just curious, but exactly how can someone "abuse" the Edit function? I can understand Delete... but donor or not, you should be able to edit your own posts.

I can't even delete my own 1 second old posts now. Not sure if this is a phone thing, or if I am truly being dicked around.

I have a band page that I would like to just update rather than making a new thread each time, but this new limitation on editing makes that impossible. It seems unnecessary. I would be fine with not being able to delete old threads, but the editing thing is kind of annoying.

same here on the pc. lame.

I mistakenly posted in the wrong thread earlier and because there was no delete function, I had to edit my post to say, "nice", just so that I wouldn't look like a fool.

It seems that not a single person is happy with these changes. It does seem like everyone agrees with deleting old threads, though, I'm hoping you mods/admins will work with us in making us happy.

We should just make it so that threads and posts can't be deleted after 48 hours. Leave the edit option open.

yeah I have a TV show thread that I used to update the first post of, but now it's pretty much useless.

this seems like one of those situations where one person does something stupid and everyone has to face the consequences of that person's mistake. mods should be there to help us out every once and awhile and fix site issues... not treat us like we're in fucking elementary school and take away our privileges in the name of "fairness"

Seriously, 100% what you said. Fubar deleted his threads, so now we can't delete our own. Shareeb suggests a great idea. Personally I think we should be allowed to delete our own posts, but everyone else disagrees, so we, the members and nardo, should come to an agreement. I'm not going to protest and stop posting, but this is bullshit, and I'm not happy.
