Amputechture is 100 times more "radio friendly" than cryptomnesia. Its not TMV. 36 minutes is really short for TMV album. Octahedron was 50 minutes. This would never get released as a TMV album

lol what..
That doesn't even make sense bro. So what would you do if the new TMV was 40 minutes or 36?

lol apparently the definition of TMV is a length of a record now? I would love to see Cedric crack up at a fan tweeting to him "if it's under 50 minutes you guys can't release it as The Mars Volta". Like really think about what you're writing first. What do you think his answer would be haha.
Also, I'm not saying Crypto sounds like TMV or should have been released as...I'm saying it's totally possible that they would have released it under TMV back in 2008/2009 if the label let them. Evolving the sound and lineup was TMV's calling card.

My point is that on vinyl (which TMV strongly promotes) an album can't be longer than 45 min. Technically speaking all TMV full lengths are double albums. So it's basically like saying "TMV can't release an album, because they only release double albums".
