It seems pretty obvious to me that the Omar side projects were a way for Omar to continue being actively creative while Cedric was taking his time being passively creative, absorbing life experiences and writing, which takes more time than Omar takes to whip up a guitar riff and slap some keys on it.

 

So now they've found a way to get Cedric to write faster (less concern over trying to come up with "interesting," dense or difficult lyrics/vocal melodies) and for Omar to focus on multiple mainstay projects at the same time to rein in his compulsive creativity.

 

At least, it seems that way to me...

Solos will come back once this rock phase is over and Cedric decided to work on solo material.

Omar will never put out another solo record, I'm 100% certain of this.

Well I guess I'll have to eat my own words. Happy to do so.

 

Didn't expect anything this late into the year, let alone 12 for the rest of the year. This is literally what we've been waiting for, but thought that it would never occur. Love it.

I still think you were right. He decided to stop making solo albums. All of these are from the past, and he's not the one releasing them, Ipecac is.

 

I see no possibility of this flow stopping until they've reached the end of the vault..
