Not listening until I get a full album, but your comments are encouraging.

Bitter Tears really sounds like pineapple face/not even toad
... and is also related to Bitter Sunsets on Some Need It Lonely. I think it's some of D's keyboard samples that are re-used.

Did we ever ID the "spy music" album?
thought it was somnambulists/aranas en la sombre? definitely very 'spy music' sounding passages. i think that was just one descriptor matt used and yknow when you get a strong impression from a few moments on an album you may use that descriptor but it doesnt mean the whole thing was spy music... what even is spy music?! closest thing i can think of is the album 'the mix up' by beastie boys

Who knows! The beginning of Viscera Eyes (much like Faith No More's Star AD) always reminds me of a cop-show car chase. Sirens, swerving through traffic, one hand on the steering wheel and one hand firing a Magnum 45 out the window.

i could see maybe sworn virgins with it's epicness and funkiness of the first tracks, and the sneakiness of to kill a chi chi could potentially be described that way.

Spy music to me has lots of "wacka wacka' wah pedal stuff. Anyway. Just curious.

I see no incongruity in that assertion.
*runs away and hides*

Actually here's the full quote and it shows that it's definitely not Aranas as i previously asserted but also shows that spy music is only one of the descriptors used
Wow, you guys should hear the ORL solo record I am mixing right now. It's like some retro-future pink floyd spy music...really good stuff man...really good
sounds like UM tbh
