Cedric invoking the ghost of Jon Theodore? Kinda underhanded way to curry favor with the Volta fandom.

Hahaha it has already begun. The Coma will now hate omar and love cedric, and we will all spend the rest of our lives going to see both of them play in separate bands at small little clubs, until cedric reunites the bedlam lineup, but with jon on drums and froosh replacing omar.

Wouldn't this technically be the Amp lineup?

got me there, i guess im thinking more along the lines of bedlam tour, 3 hour shows, crazy backdrops, cedric chucking bottles from the bar, etc.

This really puts other things into perspective too, like that openair mars volta interview with Omar where he talks about how the rest of the band travels in the tour bus, and he drives himself to all the shows and just meets them there.

Why the fuck is Chrissie talking so much shit about Omar?

morgane blanc ‏@koralone
@ChrissieBixler Love Omar but Cedric never got enough credit for Volta or ATDI. Good luck to him and your soon to be family! :)

@koralone Maybe because Cedric isnt an ego maniac. ATDI was a band started by Cedric and Jim. Omar is obsessed with attention and credit.

Yeah Cedric's posts were honest and informative, but Chrissie bashing Omar is a little unnecessary.

A little hilarious though.

Does anybody here still talk to theory/lee? We need to get him back here for this. I don't think I will really be able to move on unless theory posts a confirmation.

The comment about Ikey and Jon rejoining really struck a nerve there. Shit.

Lol I didn't even know about that track back then. I was most excited about hearing Tetra and Roulette. And if I'm not wrong, they also premiered Rapid Fire Tollbooth!

Not trolling. Definitely true. Definitely real shit being said. Let's be honest with ourselves, The Mars Volta has not been The Mars Volta since Thomas left. And they kinda sucked after Adrian left. And it's pretty apparent that Omar hasn't given a fuck about the band since 2008.

But 2001-2008....those were eight fucking fun years, no? Glad to have been a part of them. Truly something special, and everyone who was there (especially Cedric and O) knows it.

Is this the same man, who disrespected and insulted fans, because they danced too wild or screamed too loud? (and now all this "without the fans *blablabla*)
Is this the same man, who bitched about "the people on the internet"? (and now using twitter)

And...Maybe cedric should reread his own lyrics: "No condition is permanent" .

Did Omar ever say any bad word about cedric? No, instead he promote his album in interviews.

This is soooo lame.

But im pretty sure L. Ron Hubbard wrote something, that will help this man to come over it.

Fuck you cedric!

Most surprising revelations to come out of this (and I think most of you will agree): 1) Cedric was trying to get Jon Theodore back, and 2) he thinks Frances was their best era, at least for touring (according to a reply he sent to a fan on Twitter during his rant). That wouldn't be so shocking if he hadn't spent the last several years loudly and proudly proclaiming otherwise.

I'm not trying to pick a fight here or even rubbing it in anyone's face, but FTM being their favorite tour is just a no brainer if you witnessed it, no matter what they said. Everyone was having fun, both on and off stage, chuckling when someone fucked up a part of a song because it didn't matter, just part of a huge jam anyway. Probably the only time you could always count on them talking to fans before and after the shows, too, if that's your thing. (DITC was way different, I remember meeting Cedric in the center of town and he had the touring manager pretty much drag him away from our conversation, stuff like that. Quite a dark era also. And the new members like Marcel were very shy, no one even recognised him when he made his way through the crowd to get on stage. Juan, Ikey and Jon probably never had a bad day, though, those guys are awesome in my book.)
