This is the Pink Floyd spy album

(What's the Pink Floyd spy album?)

Johann talked about recording music with Omar a few years ago (not the Cloud Hill Tapes) and called it Floydesque spy music sounding or s.th. like that
We never heard anything about it again
Same goes for a live to vinyl session Omar did there years ago

Also,were the songs he played in the Clouds Hill Festival ever released in those arrangements?
Guess not...

wasn't it the hypemaster who said that?

Every day I wake up and listen to this and still can't believe we're in TMV album hype season again.

I'm thinking these are the thoughts after death of someone who was murdered and maybe abused feeling vindication/revenge for their killer being caught through the evidence they left behind. Sorry if this was discussed, I haven't read through the whole thread.

There's been rumors that this album will be covering Cedrics feelings on Scientology. If you know about his history with the religion, you aren't far off.

I do know about it, and that would also definitely make sense too. I went back and listened under that context and I'm just not sure. There's a lot in there that does point in that direction, but there are also things that don't. I don't know, I'm dumb.

Antemasque

Casting a slur

I heard a voice from the river
Ringing out through the bones of its lantern jaw

//

At the Drive-in

She's just a lantern jaw
Plagiarizing ground assault

//

Mars Volta

If that rain don't fall any sooner, I'm gonna wash up on the shore
If that train don't run any sooner, I'm gonna waste away
Into lantern jaws

Why

idk

I guess C-Bix just has a thing for mandibles

Whew, it’s been a long time…

Well, I love the new song, it seems like the most sophisticated thing they’ve put out. Seeing the Pink Floyd comparisons over the last couple of pages, I have to say this track is giving me strong Steely Dan vibes, actually.

Why

Lantern jaw is a term for someone with a strong, protrusive jawline. Which is "Chad" like. So maybe it's like someone who is strong willed or dominant. As for Cedric's fixation for the term, who knows.

Cedric's stays comfortably in his range and works in some beautiful subtlety in the melodies. I love the hypnotic percussion and subtle rise in intensity. Going back to old volta tracks I've gotten a lot more critical over the years but a lot of the things I've had issues with like cedric pushing too high in his register, relentless intensity without breathing room and bloated production are absent on this track. It feels like Tmv's answer to a PF Meddle kind of vibe. Whatever it is I'm here for it.
The mars volta is back baby fuck yeah!

hi Nancy how have you been xx
I've been good ☺️ this song comes at a great time in my life, bringing a spark of excitement on my journey to realize my dream life.
