patton has worked on some amazing projects, sheff will tell you all about it. He definetly has credibility in music terms, he is speaking his mind and if that seems fucked up then that is your opinion. All of us have felt exactly the way he has about some band or artists, he's one of the few who is bold enough to do it on tape.
