Aren't the same songs from the 7" gonna be on the album?

Members of the Melvins (Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover), At The Drive-In (Omar Rodriguez-Lopez) and Le Butcherettes (Teri Gender Bender) have formed the roaring new rock band, Crystal Fairy.

Crystal Fairy’s self-titled debut arrives Feb. 24 via Ipecac Recordings with the single “Drugs On The Bus” available digitally now.

“When the Melvins toured with Le Butcherettes, Teri would come out at the end of the set and do ‘Rebel Girl’ with us,” explained drummer Dale Crover. “It was almost always the highlight of the show! From doing that, we knew there was some chemistry between us that was worth exploring. We became close friends with both Teri and Omar on the tour and came up with the idea of starting a new band with them.”

“Omar caught up with us on the Melvins’ tour because he is an admirer. Through the travels, the Melvins and Omar connected as well,” offered singer Teri Gender Bender. “Sometimes, Omar and I would fantasize loudly of hopefully being able to form a power together. Before we knew it, we were writing music in the studio (both in El Paso and L.A.) and birthed a magical little gem that I am extremely proud to be a part of.”

“The Melvins have had many different line-ups, and we’ll continue to mix things up but with Crystal Fairy, working with Teri and Omar, I knew this was something different and deserved to have its own identity,” said singer/guitar player Buzz Osborne.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez added, “While our main bands will still remain our focus and priority, we intend to have as much fun as possible recording and touring with this special and unique project."

I doubt they'll be opening for shows if their other bands, my guess is they tour on their own around time album is released.

I take it the Crystal Fairy tour will be the first chance for us to purchase the Ipecac Series CDs then?  I wouldn't be surprised if tour dates are announced within the next few weeks for December/January.

Talk about jumping ahead. Right now, I'd be surprised if the Ipecac albums ever made it to physical copies.

Agreed. I'm honestly surprised they didn't do physical copies of at least one of the albums. Even if they only press 500. Just to see the demand and what not and how quickly (or not) it sells.

Missed the 7" sale because I had just finished my final uni assignment and needed the sleep.

Ended up buying it on discogs anyway. Sounds great. The label on the 7" says the songs are by 'Red Alpha Royale'. I wonder why they changed their name. I think Crystal Fairy is better anyway.

Omar's bass on Drugs On The Bus is tight.

its the other way around. Crystal Fairy is the new name.
do you have Necklace Of Divorce? can you upload it somewhere?
"Red Alpha Royale" is a better band name really. why did they change it?
I'm surprised that there has never been a band called "Crystal Fairy" before.
Interesting to note that "Alpha Royale" exists on last.fm and the only song that exists there is "
Proxima Centauri"

Omar's bass playing has always been sick. That's what makes Megaritual such a great record.
