In this thread I'm keeping you updated with anything Josh Klinghoffer does.

But - as I might be the only one posting here - you could as well just head over to JKDN and check out the wonderful website

Wiki

You hopefully all know him through his collaborations with John Frusciante, but he's also been in The Bicycle Thief with Bob Forrest, toured with Vincent Gallo, The Butthole Surfers, played guitar in Beck's band in 2003, PJ Harvey's band in 2004, Sparks, drums for Michael Rother, keys in Gnarls Barkley and contributed to albums of Thelonious Monster, The Diary of IC Explura (with Toni Oswald), Golden Shoulders, The Format, Spleen and of course Ataxia.

Also, he was in a Ramones Cover band with Zach Hill (did this get your attention?!?!) though, there's not much known about this...

Most recently he's joined RHCP on stage for various songs and jams, played guitar, synths, drums during Hump de Bump and did backing and lead vocals. (as AK is shit)

we have a whole Klinghoffer related youtube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/JKDN

if anyone wants the Ic Explura, Bicycle Thief or Spleen album, let me knowwww

I totally fangirled at him when PJ Harvey played in Birmingham. He was cool about it though.
Conclusion, he is awesome, I am not.

Cool, I wish I had seen him in PJ's band. I'm quite happy I got to see him with the Peppers. It was so great to see John & Josh smiling at each other

I've also seen Josh with the Peppers in Hamburg '07, it was a great show. You should have seen John, Josh, Michael Rother and Flea (+Chad) jam for almost half an hour. Just lovely.

He is a great musician at all, I like his stuff with Fru for sure (Fru is just awesome, even a little more awesome than Josh) and also the record he made with Bob Forrest.

Oh, and I would love to get the Spleen record if that's possible...

I didn't know he was in a Ramones cover band with Zach Hill. That's pretty sweet!! It's hard to keep up with everything this guy does. He's always off doing something different. Gotta love him. :)

sure, just ripped it and I'm uploading it now...

About Nun Lover!

"Nun lover!" (the album) was sicked up one drunken evening in the redhouse studios in Senigallia Italy, during a visit from one Signor Josh Klinghoffer to the new Italian domicile of his erstwhile colleague in arms Signor Roberto Ellisoni.

Having conned a couple of other people into joining them (Cristiano Godano, of Italian heroes Marlene Kuntz, and Giorgio Vendola, a jazz musician Roberto picked up at a Senigallia street festival) the line up was complete, and after copious quantities of fine local wines were laid waste, they thought it might be wise that they improvise some music.

The result of that fortuitous decision can be heard in all it's stereophonic splendour on "Nun lover!".

The Diary of IC Explura
A Loveletter the the Transformer, Part 1

Project with Toni Oswald (former gf of Frusciante, can be heard on Niandra LaDes) on vocals, synth, guitar and harmonium
Josh Klinghoffer on guitar, drums, toy and regular piano.

No offense, but when i first heard his voice on sphere i thought it would be a woman. His voice can be very... feminine.

so he was the white skinny guy playing with gnarls barkley? cool.

Yeah, his drum playing on the frusciante records is very impressing, sometimes messy, but its like a controlled chaos kind of drumming. I like it. I bet he is banging toni now. lolz

I absolutely agree with you on that, this stuff is too awesome to not have it pressed on CD. It reminds me of Niandra in some moments, just too good. Oh, I'm thinking about getting the Spleen - Nun Lover!, it is really nice, too.

Uh yeah, Klinghoffer playing with PJ Harvey ... I remember thinking: 'Dude totally moves likes Frusciante on stage' ... and than they did that two drummers thingy and I was like 'Awesome ...' but then I was distracted by Polly's dress again ...

EDIT: Frusciante played with Dave Gahan? When did that happen? Did I miss out on something ... ?
