Not sure, but I just bought the Rieflin / Fripp / Gunn album "The Repercussions Of Angelic Behavior" and it's pretty sweet.  Apparently I'm digging into Gunn subconsciously, because I also bought "The Bridge Between" by The Robert Fripp String Quintet & ProjeKct Two's "Space Groove"

Belew's drumming on the Space Groove sessions is awesome.

1st time I ever read someone writing this.
His drumming is the main critism in every review and also its weak point IMO
But I really like most of the projekcts

First time for me last night.....that was a thrill! Went by myself while the lady friend hung at a nearby bar, sat about ten rows back directly in front of Fripp, so had a great view of him all night.

Mix from where I sat was pretty good overall - some Fripp guitar and Tony bass would get a little drowned out when everyone was thrashing but that was infrequent so not problematic at all.

Well behaved crowd - only saw one guy get kicked out in the middle of schizoid sitting by me as he tried to film. Security definitely held to the rules and we were luckily only blessed with one finger wag to the crowd from Fripp to start the second set. Some clown screamed “can I take a picture yet?” Before schizoid bad got ssshhhhdddd by the crowd and a shake od the head from Jakko.

As for the performance itself, great all around music performed by exceptional musicians. I really really love fallen angel so glad to get that one and they played it so brilliantly it triggered the first of many spontaneous standing ovations when it ended.

Fripp: the legend himself, what more can be said? He actually played tons of guitar, just a lot of it in the support role. That said, you got ripping solos from him on prince Rupert’s, schizoid, indiscipline, easy money, and larks 1, so not like he wasn’t taking a ton of leads. He was big into the strummy, banjo-type solos - that’s the style he used on his indiscipline and larks 1 solos. His searing, laser beam tone leads on schizoid, moonchild, prince Rupert’s, and easy money made this punter smile wide. Court was the only song where he played only keys, while cirkus he mostly played keys with a few small guitar bits, otherwise he was playing guitar all over the place on all the songs, ranging from a support role to searing leads.

Schizoid: amazing version! Echo what was said above - Fripp and Jakko did an extended solo where they were both wailing away at once with Jeremy supporting - you could hear a pin drop in the place when everyone dropped out and Fripp and Jakko both continued soloing. On Gavin’s solo, he was definitely having fun using the electronic percussion and at one point was soloing with one of his legs up on the drums to muffle them. Cool stuff - would be delighted if they release this version as the nightly tickle.

Drums: 3 drummers was worth it! The baton passing was amazing and each guy was oh so different in how they played - would say that prolly half the show Jeremy was on keys, which was quite lovely. They were having a riot of a time on the indiscipline intro.

New stuff: just the drum trios and radical 1, meltdown, and radical 2. The new, longer version of radical 1 is amazing - cool what they’ve done with twisting the rhythm and riffs and making it a longer tune, definitely had me smiling.

Bottom line: see this if you can next year! They’re playing top notch with an amazing repertoire. If you can, see them up close as it’s cool to see all the nods and smiles up there. Fripp was pretty much all smiles all night and ripped it up!

I think it was because I was in the balcony and the sound just traveled in a certain way.  My friend I went with walked around a bit due to having issues sitting for a long time and he said it was better elsewhere.  I also feel the sound improved during set 2. Pat and Gavin seemed to be more quiet, but Stacey was still SUPER loud.  There were other people complaining about it during intermission.  Someone was also bitching about the lack of fog....guess you can't have everything.

Fripp was definitely playing keys on a bunch of songs.  I just remember him playing more lead the other two times I saw them....dunno...I was watching Pat most of the show, he's such a fun drummer to watch.   Gavin just depresses me because I'll never be that good. Fripp's solos were pretty fierce.  I love that wailing guitar tone.

The New Radical Action Pt 1 is super interesting.  Much more erratic.

Still is a must see show

Belew's drumming in P2 is Bozioesque compared to his work in P6.

It was interesting watching what Fripp played in terms of jumping between keys and guitar, considering they have a keyboard player and keyboard/drummer as well. Like I’d said above, the only song he played absolute zero guitar on was court, where he was playing the lead riff all on the keys in mellotron setting. Every other song if he played keys he also played guitar as well, although on cirkus it was very very little guitar. He mostly was in an accompaniment role for the first set and then from larks 1 onward took a much more prominent lead role.

Radical 1 reworked really is fun as hell - I didn’t clock it, but it seemed much longer than radical 1 had been, felt like 5 mins whereas before it was 3.5. Definitely a wilder, more erratic version of the song, one I would be keen to hear again!

As for the drummers - it’s cool how pat is the mad scientist, Gavin is the fierce technician, and Jeremy is the heavy handed, groovy basher who also plays piano and such. The differences in their styles really mesh well together - imagine if when Rieflin comes back he picks up the sticks again and they go to 4 drummers???

I think he plays a little guitar during the flute solo in court? No?

Hahahah that would give Fripp the pointed stick he always craves - something new to add in more variation and more evolution to the music. Can only imagine how insane that would be....

Just bought tickets for one of their two Prague, CZ gigs - the one on 27.6.2018. I wanted to write "can't wait!", but, em... It's pretty far away still, so... Yeah, I can wait.

Just bought tickets to the show in Essen. The venue is a beautiful old cinema and literally 2 blocks away from where I live. So sick!
