Ok, if the mars volta were going to cover a song what do you think they could do the best and would fit with their style of music??? I can't think of one now but I'll post one when i have thought a bit more, maybe they could really rock no quater like tool did, no actually I think there are many more they could do much better. Well what do u think?

The only rule is u cant say any ATDI songs etc thanks

anything by Zeppelin... but it would rock if they played the entire disc 2 of Physical Graffiti. That disc is so unbelievable, experimental, and TMV would rock it. Cedric could hit some Plant vocal notes fo sho.

White Rabbit by the Jefferson Airplain, however you grammatically pronounce that name. Jefferson's Airplain? Or was that when they were called Jefferson Starship? Eugh... 70s...

anyway, the guitar lines in that song are awesome, and I would love to hear Cedric howling about the doorman and all that. Maybe break down into a cover of Summer of 68 (the "how do you feel?" part in particular) by Pink Floyd, kind of like how APC mixed Lovesong and Diary of a Madman. That would be soooo excellent, especially with Ikey on the... well, keys.

dark side of the moon, with wizard of oz playing in the background.
that'd be sick but i wouldnt wanna stand through it. id like a video. flaming lips did this at bonnaroo. kind of. they did like 2 songs and played the movie in the back it was awesome. but the whole thing would be too long for my liking although im a big floyd fan.

id love some zeppelin. no quarter would rock. anything really.

styx - mr roboto

Waiting for the Sun - The Doors

hands down!! They would rock it good, and make it like 10mins.

Dead Joe by The Birthday Party (very, very heavy crazy stuff), or umm, I dunno, Firth of Fifth or the whole of 2112 would be amusing :P

i know this may be cliche, but i support doing a led zep or even other classic rock artist stuff...santana, beatles, even the stones...anyway.....Stairway to Heaven would be sublime with Ikey doing some organ jumps on the keyboards...oh yeah! Rock n Roll would be sweet as well, and if you'd want to get a bit more recent, how about One by Metallica or a U2 song...heh

rock!
