Some footage I found of Laddio Bolocko playing in New York in 2k. Blake Fleming has a minute and a half approximately of it in his myspace but this one lasts eleven minutes; it is awesome. :walkman:

Awesome, thanks! I was just cranking the Laddio last night for the first time in a while... Blake is really incredible.

the 2nd vid is particularly impressive. it's a shame the 2 sax are drowned by guitar and also otherwise inaudible at times. this live is even better than the cds. obviously, blake was co-founder of tmv for a reason.

Thanks! Looking forward to listening. I think Blake doesn't get enough credit from some people for his talent and creative contributions to The Mars Volta. I'm still blown away by his work with Laddio Bolocko.

I'm a bit late but damn this is great. It's like Collide goes rock! Pretty sure I'll end up buying this.

Here's a much better quality version:

Here's an interview I did last weekend with Blake Fleming. Figured there'd probably be one or two people on here who would dig reading this:

http://sightsoundrhythm.tumblr.com/

If you haven't checked out his new solo album Time's Up I'd recommend doing so.

There are also interviews with Deantoni Parks and Marcel Rodriguez Lopez on the page, too. Check the archive.

You can follow the page on Twitter: @SGHTSNDRHYTHM. Would be totally appreciated if you did as I'll be putting more stuff up soon.

Thanks for reading and hope you're into it.

Awesome! Thanks for your kind words. Really glad to hear you're into them.

Absolutely loving Blake's solo album, too! If you're into vinyl you should pick one up.

Yeah, I'm in the UK so it's not that much different to here. Totally understand though as shipping is usually the same as the price you pay for vinyl from the US.

Still, great album!

Blake Flemming is a really nice dude. Probably the only "former TMV drummer" (or current) who takes the time to talk to fans. Altho that could just be because most have no idea who he is...

Yeah, he's a very open, honest guy. I can imagine he'd be like that even if he was a massively well known player.

He was cool enough to mention putting his Facebook address in the interview too so people could drop him a line on there if they wanted to. I've got a lot of respect for that.

Totally love his work on the early Mars Volta demos and especially the Laddio Bolocko records, too. I don't think there's much he's played on that I've not dug. His new album is awesome.
