Wow, it's weird to see the transition of new drummer to new drummer to new drummer to...more new drummers. Definitely can't wait to see this guy play live, although it does kinda suck that TP is gone. I'm sure the direction their music will take will be exciting, regardless. :P

fuck, can someone at least post the setlist...?

Fistful of dollah bills -> Son et lumiere-> Inertiatic
Cotopaxi (big problems with Juan's bass amp, most of the song without Juan)
L'Via L'viaquez (yep)
Eriatarka (double yep)
Goliath
Since We've Been Wrong (triple yep)
Cicatriz (fucking quadruple yep)
Halo Of Nembutals
MIRANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!)
Teflon
Viscera Eyes
The Widow
Roulette Dares
Total time: Just over 2 hours.

That's about it. New drummer is Elitch (checked out some photos on his myspace, and they corresponded with what I saw tonight)

oh fuck that sounds fucking epic. Damn their US setlist kinda sucked compared to this one.

agreed 100x. I've seen them 5 times, which i know isn't that many compared to some, but where have all those Deloused and Frances songs been the last 4 years? not in the U.S.

I'm liking that setlist quite a lot. Damn I can't wait till I see Volta again in January. I'm slightly saddened by the fact that I won't get to see Pridgen's infectious energy again, but am intrigued by this new drummer.

3.Prior to joining TMV he was a raging Volta fangirl

How do you know that?

Also enjoy your two and a half years in the band Dave.

me and dave elitch are probably the only 2 esthero fans that i know by name, so i respect him

Well, now you know a third one. Esthero is just awesome. Overall Trip Hop is just amazing, stuff like Wax Tailor, Bonobo etc etc.

FUCK! I haven't been on this forum since I first heard that Thomas might of been fired, now it's true. I was listening to Omar's new solo album, and the songs they played live already made me wish that Thomas was drumming. Deantoni Parks is nice, but I can't believe I'm saying this, but.... I miss Thomas now!!! (Especially on Omar's solo material)

I hope this new dude kicks ass. I mean, The Mars Volta's sound requires a good ass drummer, so I have faith in Omar's decision when he hired Mr. Elitch.

C'mon guys, someone who had been at the concert last night, please, please post some of the videos you made. I'm starting to get really nervous about Elitch performance, especially on cicatriz!! :walkman:

yeah his myspace music interests made me lol a little. but all that matters is the man can play. I get the impression he was a mars volta fan beforehand. he prob knew a bunch of the de-loused stuff by heart, hence the reason cicatriz and eriatarka appeared in norway

there were plenty of great artists mentioned on his page....Frank Zappa, D'Angelo, Meshuggah......

D'Angelo... ?

Sorry, I'm not sure if you're serious or not, my sarcasm detector is out of order at the moment...

D'Angelo is great, no joke.

The set list looks good, can't wait to see how the volta and elitch fit together.

im sure he killed it, just watch the gospel chops shed sessionz volume 2 dvd to see what he can do.

im willing to bet the reason they brought back all of those old songs was to save rehearsal time, because dave probably knew them all already.

glad that they arent playing much tbig material, that was thomas' album
