The new project from Max Cavalera (Soulfly, etc.,) Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan) & Dave Elitch (ex-The Mars Volta) recently finished up another writing session. According to a Facebook posting from Puciato:

“Not a bad week. Wrapped up three days of writing w/ Cavalera and Elitch today, new DEP is slowly taking shape, and Weinman and I whipped up a surprise LA show with about five minutes of planning. Possibly the easiest show we’ve ever booked, and it’ll definitely be one of the craziest. Now on to the night and the insanity that always comes with it. Have a good weekend, everyone. Don’t get too crazy. No, wait…what am I talking about. DO. Sanity is overrated.”

I think it IS pridgen, you might be getting confused with the project Dillinger's singer is doing with Max Cavalera and Dave Elitch

 

Any topic for this side project ? Some fresh news dropped this morning.

Rather common imo, or at least nothing that tickles my fancy.
I'll save my final word for when the whole record drops, but until then not so sure to listen to these tracks again.

If this came out in the 90s, I would be all over it. Fairly generic, by the numbers , heavy as hell metal. I like the last 30 seconds the best.

I like all of these dudes. A little more Mastodon with Dillinger coming in second. But this sounds pretty generic.

 

Then again, i barely listen to metal anymore. So maybe it's just me. It's fine, but a perfect combo of all of those bands (minus Volta obviously since Elitch was only a hired gun). Which is expected.

 

But when a supergroup happens, i dont want to hear those bands combined in one sound. I want to hear each of them coming together to do something they normally DONT do.

Felt pretty generic on the first spin. Hopefully its a grower

It's just too basic metal honestly, there's only a few bits that are interesting like the intro to Snakes of Jehova or the multiple bridges in the first track.

 

But mostly it's radio friendly metal...
