these are a little bit far fetched. especially vanishing tide and winter. can't hear anything

maybe you could also sort these songs by albums? all USM tracks are re-released except "names"

Gentle Umbrellas and La Voz - it does seem to use some of the same melody, although played through a different synth patch (a vibraphone noise on Umbrellas, and a Prophet-5 sounding thing on La Voz). Amazed I'd not noticed.

Semillas de Hez breakdown is from roulette dares demo with blake 100% and grapefruit is just a similar rhythm but not same.

This is not truly xenochrony, though.

"Xenochrony is a studio-based musical technique developed at an unknown date, but possibly as early as the early 1960s, by Frank Zappa, who used it on several albums. Xenochrony is executed by extracting a guitar solo or other musical part from its original context and placing it into a completely different song, in order to create an unexpected but pleasing effect."

I agree but why do we list all sea is risings here? Not xenochrony either. This list is about xenochrony AND remixes

Yeah I quote that same thing in the first bit of the topic post, then say we should include remakes and remixes too just for completeness, thread would get messy with non-applicable suggestions otherwise and it would just end up being everything anyway haha

Yeah take out all the re-makes and remixes. It completely muddles up the point of this thread, which is when a RIFF or a melody or bassline gets transposed on top of DIFFERENT music.

 

So for example, I would definitely lump some of the latest album (Tingled) on there, as he sings the same songs but with totally different arrangement underneath.
