...meaning the 2nd live record, featuring Frances the Mute, needs.to.come.the.fuck.out.

Just as Scabdates compiled various shows over 2004-2005, I think the second release should feature 2005-2006, entirely with Theodore again.  Later live releases can be Pridgatron & D Parks

I would love to hear a soundboard recording of '09 Drunkship.  Earlier stuff is more exciting, but I love that drum breakdown TP and Omar were doing pre-Oct.  I remember hearing it live put me into a frenzy!

Im not one of those people who care about live soundboard recordings. I want new stuff from the vault. Meaning music that i haven't heard before, especially in the studio.

This.  The only exception is live stuff that is not from any of the albums whatsoever such as Abortion or LP3.5.  But hopefully a studio recording of LP3.5 exists.

I still cannot believe we are hearing new stuff from C & O at all... I would be glad for anything really but my only concern with getting 'new' TMV studio material is what damage it will do to their nearly spotless legacy. I guess by releasing soundboard's it wouldn't matter because it's the live stuff that people have already heard.

Yeah but a b-sides album is a b-sides album. It would be recognized as such and if some people don't like it it's not that big of a deal. I don't think any of the b-sides we've heard thus far have damaged TMV's legacy at all, personally.

Yeah I guess so but the b-sides album was a leak and not an official release

No, but really, why would official b-sides 'damage their legacy'?

Edit: If it's a concern that they wouldn't be good enough to live up to TMV standards, they survived Tourniquet Man didn't they?

Yes but that song was surrounded by a fucking good album. B-sides are.. well b-sides.

edit; Although to be fair my original post wasn't even about b-sides.

Plague wasn't supposed to be released and it kicks ass...same with that Nocto leftover. Sometimes b-sides are b-sides because they don't fit in with the rest of the album or bands think they'll be doing something with them later...but for whatever reason, they don't.

I hope there's at least 6 to 8 cool unheard songs with Cedric.

The thing is, a Volta concert can contain tons of non-album music.  I think those '04 Cica jams, and '05 Drunkships are likely to be better and more interesting than some half-developed studio outtakes;  though I'm definitely interested in both.

I dunno, those studio outtakes seem pretty developed on average.

Well I'm mostly interested in studio outtakes with Cedric, I'm sure there are at least a handful that we've never heard or heard about.

I think we're underestimating Omar here. I believe they have a good amount of finished(with Cedric) material. The summer leaks solidified that for me.
