I mean, I never liked any of Waters' Floyd music.... but I never liked any of Gilmour's either.

Since Noizewater I mean Syd Berret won't come back, I guess Nigel Godrich manipulating Waters' voice into actual music is the best we can get?

What an asshole. He says he is twice as talented as both gilmour and wright? Id say its the other way around. Why would a musician so talented as him would chose to play the same note in octave on bass for his whole career?

P sure he plays more than one note. Gilmour is a one trick pony, tho.

album has a strong chance of being the best thing they've done outside of pf, even with the cringe lyrics

He can sing and rip a wicked solo. He's a 2 trick pony. Never been a big fan of his lyrics. He did have a huge influence on my guitar playing when I was a teenager. Those huge, slow bends really tickled my fancy.

When dave writes lyrics they are pretty good. The problem is that almost all lyrics on last 2 pf albums and all his solo works were written by his wife. Perhaps he doesnt have enough inspiration for writing them all the time?

This album is great for mixing nostalgic nods but sounding fresh. Some slower songs could possibly have been cut maybe because it's more of the same slow bits he does, but the musicianship in each song is nice and diverse. A little over world war 2 era wall b sides songs like broken bones. Still has great strings in it. Some songs make my think of animals though which I like, such as the breakdown of birds on a gale. I dig the Floyd callbacks though with the dog's sound effects telephone operator and etc. I dig it but can feel like I can pass some of the slower songs. I still haven't skipped a single one yet in probably my 4th listen through.

The artwork really blows though. He has all the money in the world to make a cool cover and we get that???? It's basically a explosions in the sky ripoff.
