as long as it's not the vocals. tool would make the heaviness of meshuggah sound better. they have more finesse and groove.i am excited for this CD!
meshuggah would be a good influence on a tool album.

don't worry about it. i'm sure watching lombardo and the meshuggah drummer, just inspired danny to become evern more of a beast. and adam to write some heavier riffs. that's about the extent of the influence, i bet. it's tool, it will be great. you can count on it.Please try not to rain on my parade. K? Thx.
puddle of mudd frequently quote led zeppelin as influences. their last album was supposedly "the heaviest shit we could do."Ooh, Mike Patton and Slayer influences on the next Tool album. It's officially the best album ever.

BUT, I was just cruising the Music Zone website (www.musiczone.co.uk) and seeing what new stuff was coming out and offers, and I found in "coming soon" this:
Tool - TBC - 19 September 2005
I'm praying to God that that's true, but there has been no news from any official sources... and also, the section says that a new Incubus record is coming out in October, but I'm sure they only JUST started recording, so, maybe the Tool date is totally made up.
Wait, I just checked HMV's website, and they have that as a release date too! Heck yes.
Thought you guys might wanna know, if you didn't...

It came out mid 2001.
I'm not getting excited about anything until the record is in my hands.

'Salival' came out in (late) 2000, maybe that's what the insert was for.I remember buying opiate in 1999. It had a little insert saying the new album (lateralus, then untitled) was due out early 2000.
It came out mid 2001.
I'm not getting excited about anything until the record is in my hands.

lateralus got delayed by a year or so of litigation though. but i'm not buying this september date either. of course, they always take their time. but it's worth it.
