The Meow the Jewels remix of Oh My Darling is up.  Scroll down and their performance on Colbert (with TV on the Radio) is posted too.  They shout out to Ikey at the end. Very nice

Just saw EL-P has collaborated with omar and ced on the album "I'll sleep when you're dead", specifically this song:

Wouldve liked to hear a bit more form ced but its a solid track imo.

RTJ being used to promote an Xbox game feels...weird.  I mean good for them, I'm sure they are finally getting the pay they deserve, but its strange to imagine El-P went from being perpetually broke for years despite his stellar work to this.

Welcome to the Gears family. Brothers to the end."

Yeah, I mean why would anyone want money after being broke for years it truly boggles the mind.

I love that you specifically ignored the part where I said its good for them that they are making money.  Do you strive to be an elitist dink?

I don't care that they are doing what they are doing to get paid.  As musicians they kind of have to in this day and age.  It's more just strange to see his popularity skyrocket in a short period of time.  Up until 2012/2013 (whenever RTJ1 came out) he was still quite niche.

Best rap album this year is Coloring Book, you clods. I'm up for RTJ3 but I do think they're quite overrated.

Not as much as you strive to be Anthony Fantano.

If anything, Alex is on the opposite side of the Fantano spectrum but whatever.

not having a day job and just listening to music and collecting youtube royalties all day everyday?  Sure sounds great.

sorry you can't read.

At this point I'm inclined to agree although its pretty insane that a collection of Kendrick b-sides gives me pause.

RTJ for me was just being excited for El-P.  As far as I know its pretty much still exclusively him on the production end of things (I'm sure Killer Mike has some say too) and for that to finally get recognized in the mainstream is wonderful.

I do worry that RTJ3 will be too much of the same thing.  2 is a great ramping up of 1, but they'll need to avoid going the same route of cock grabbing acid tabbing braggadocio.

Meow The Jewels was shit though.

RTJ with DJ Shadow their track together the verses sounded a little lazy I thought. Shadow's production and album as a whole killed though. It's a pretty good song, just had a moment of, these verses aren't that good in my mind.

Well, that's one way to drop your album. The "fake release date into dropping it on xmas".

yeah very cool way to drop the album i thought!! i like it so far, it is very similar to previous records but it still bangs. just doesn't stand out as much anymore?

miss el-p's really weird stuff and grittier beats. but very glad how big rtj has become. from underground producer to one of the biggest in the game is pretty damn impressive

so far Call Ticketron, Everybody Stay Calm and Oh Mama are my favs

uncredited de la rocha feature on the last track!
