I've heard most of EP C, and some of B.

SZ2 is still the first and best song I've heard by them. Some unbelievable things happen throughout it.

Are they not just called Battle or is that a different band? If it is Battle would be the one that played TITP. Supposedly very Joy Division influenced.

Nope, doesn't seem to be the same band.

I keep listening to the B EP, the only one I have complete at the moment.

Really really good, especially the sont SZ2. Dance is very good as well.

They only have three EPs out.

Quite frankly, all of them are pretty solid. But I guess I'd recommend the B EP above the others.

I wouldn't buy B or C EP now if you don't have them yet, there is expected to be a B/C EP (2 discs) to come out in early 2006 (January).

I've heard they'll have a full-length out by the end of 2006, as well.

That's correct, they've signed to Warp records and hopefully their debut album is out by the end of the year. I'm anticipating this cd like no other, ive been a Battles nut for a while now.
If you get the chance to see them live then def do, i saw them at the Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh. Outstanding..
The people here who like Battles would probably also enjoy a now Defunkt band called LYNX
Dave Konopka - Battles guitarists Ex Band
Their cd is pretty hard to track down but i have it on soulseek if anyone wants it, username: Secondhander
Also check out Don Caballero - the other battles guitarists former band. One of my fave bands ever..

Yeah these guys fucking rock. I discovered them through the Warp website because they had a song of theirs playing for the mainscreen a while back.

Tighter than a fishes arsehole, Raaaaaagh!

Ian Williams owns, but i kind of bummed him out after a battles gig last year because i was off my face. That's not good..

I think you can buy the new b/c/tras album from the warp records site for whoever was asking.
I think i'll end up buying it even though i own the other cd's, they appear quite scratched from hi rotation anyway.

If anyone wants live battles shows i have a few that can be raped from me on soulseek, quite good.

I'm anticipating the new album more than i've anticipated any new cd in a long long time, ah the painstaking wait.

*DING*

Yeah I think I have to because I just found out it is a UK release only.

I decided I didn't want to wait to get it by ordering it from Warp, so I just downloaded B, C, and Tras off of Soulseek. It's delicious stuff.

Battles is an incredible band. Their B EP is amazing. Dancey, well layered, excellent drum work, interesting harmonies - if you haven't heard them yet, go and listen.
