As for me, my fav Froosh output is and probably ever will be To Record Only Water for Ten Days. Those songs and ideas plus theres a lot of cool electronica going on there ... waaayy beyond sheer awesomeness. 100% pure gold.

his most experimental has to be niadra just because that was the whole purpose behind him writing it

smiles was just to feed his heroin frenzy

...but to me his best work is shadows, especially the second half of the cd

idk his music just calms me down and make me happy

"shadows..." is my least favourite. overall i don't like the production (i would say curtains is the best produced), and some songs are just plain cheesy imo.

but it has some golden moments like "every person" and "cut-out".

I really respect Frusciante as an artist. however, I didn't really like finished copy of Shadows Collide with people. I liked his raw demos way more. He has the whole album in a demo form available for free download on his website. Oh yeah, the "will to death" is great.

yes the demos of shadows are much better. the acoustic versions are even better. i prefer it when it's just him and a guitar.

yea seen all hose vids before

acoustic shadows is cool too. listen to that if youi prefer just him and his geetar

carvel
cut out
song to sing when im lonely
second walk(i think its called)
water.....idk the second half of the cd is much better

but all of his stuff is very close in comparison with me. I cant really pick a favorite album, more just make a playlist of all his great songs

Lou Bergs anyone?

he needs to kick out frusc and get klinghoffer to be the new chili peppers singer and then they just plau frusc songs

he has some dud songs that are just unoriginal and pretty boring

but SO MANY HITS
damn i cant even list them all

ive never really listened to smile...i also used to NEVER listen to niandra..i was like "wtf WHO CAN LISTEN TO THIS??" because of the bad production and crappy sounding vocals...then i played it from the beginning and was BLOWN AWAY

esp pussys glue...where theres 2 takes of it. oh man.

but now that ive heard how something that sounds so raw and bad is actually really good, imthinkin i should check out smiles. i like the whole concept behind it...just putting it our for drug money...

also, would you guys think youde wanna hear niandra lades redone with the production sound of his 6 in 6 and his new and heroin free improved voice? i think that would be fuckin awesome.

like someone said, you can make some SOLID mixtapes with his stuff.

i do appreciate him as a guitar player so much more than as a song writer. he has some of the craziest musically(theory aspect) charged songs with just ridiculous layering and all this crazy stuff..

that one song on inside of emptiness where he bends that last solo all out of tune but it still sounds solid...the anne solo with omar.

dude is a fucking machine. and what a voice

i could go on forever but i shant

i think the "solo x" thing just means his 10th solo record, might not mean it's going to be titled solo x?

I never really thought that one article meant that it's titled "Solo X" either.

i kinda wish he would make an album where he completely shows off his guitar skills and whatnot. he seems to save that stuf for live shows with chili peppers. thats when your like, woah man this dude can fucking play. i know all of his solo albums have great guitar on them(ataxia, anne, ya know what im sayin?) but he seems to focus on songwriting.. idk he seems so modest about his skills. which makes me respect him even more. hes like one of those guys thats just there to contribute to the music as a whole, and not just let one aspect of it shine.idk when he plays that guitar sometimes it sends chills down my spine.

maybe guitar solos are outdated. no longer innovative at all.

at one point in time he stated that he hated solos (which his view has changed now apparently) and he just wanted to make music without a particular focus on one instrument, just making music as a whole as you said.

he has changed my perspective on music itself since i started listening to his solo stuff, and i pray that he never stops putting out the solid, emotional, mind blowing (actually i cannot find the right words for his music) for a long, long time

he USED to hate solos and rocking out but then he met omar who to frusc was a balls to the walls rock star so that inspired him to start doing all the fancy stuff he does live now with the chilis that makes one go "oh shit, not only does he really understand and make kickass music with guitar...he also can fuckin SHRED" which is dope IMO

^He shredded pretty crazily in 99 before he met Omar, and he met Omar during the By the Way era (i believe) where he was playing melodic solos
