I guess that also means all solo albums before sworn virgins, which is interesting i guess

That’s actually the best part of all this

You think tremulant is the original or remaster?

I hope to god it's the original.  Either that or a fixed remaster.

Johann posted the Tremulant link in one of the TMV groups on facebook and said "first step of many" so that sounds promising.  Also seemed to hint in some comments on instagram that vinyl reissues are part of the plan.

Edit: Actually just noticed his IG post says "this deal lays the foundation for many releases in the upcoming months"

You know what gives me the biggest hope and excitement right now? The fact that someone asked Cedric about Volta on his instagram, and rather than hype up Omar's mindblowing new jams or shoot the dude down for impertinent questioning, he simply said "I'm not allowed to talk about that right now". That it's being taken out of their hands (bless their hands) is the single most promising thing. I can't fucking wait.

Some promising news so far. I will be keeping in mind the sentiment already expressed by many, that this definitely nothing new - big announcement and big promises for the future that start with a modest release and never actually amount to anything more. That being said, the dialogue here so far is promising.

When it comes to Omar's solo records I just hope they retain the chronology of it all. The Ipecac releases felt a little like Omar re-writing his past works, and with none of the 2004-2010 era records being on streaming services it kind of felt like all that great music was going to disappear in the past. His discography deserves to be available in full and I hope they don't make more of a mess by trying to do compilations or some weird shit.

This is actually promising because it’s not another nadie sound, orl productions, or anything managed by Omar. It’ll be handled by a real label with some structure. Omar is a musical genius but gets distracted easily.

The YouTube video I posted with Birth of a Ghost samples for a similar copyright claim today.

Going by that catalogue number for tremulant (CH187) there is a large gap in the release catalogue on the clouds hill website (174-191)...

This has left me intrigued, how many albums are behind Tremulant?

Yes I noticed that, apparently each number is an album, filling with assumptions would be a waste of time but it would greatly calm the anxiety of the entire community

So does this mean Clouds Hill will distribute the Volta catalogue on both streaming and vinyl in the future? Does WMG still have any partnership or affiliation with the band, or was that a finite deal?

Who knows. It's possible that WMG's deal expired, as Parlophone's with Radiohead did. Omar and Cedric apparently owned their vinyl masters though – so WMG couldn't do a band-excluding vinyl repress like Parlo did with Radiohead. Tremulant has been re-released digitally twice now if you count the Nadie Sound debacle. Clouds Hill have a clear focus on physical media, analogue recording, and come across like serious people. I'm not entirely sure what there is to get excited about a digital Tremulant re-release. What even is a digital re-release?

More than being happy for the digital release, it is the great step of encouraging this movement and that a mature record label is the one who takes the direction is really different and beautiful, I support the movement more than the release, I know that the DeLoused will come, then the other albums and I can celebrate them as if they were released for the first time, this time they will be everywhere instead of just myspace and physically that is the reason in itself. I've been following them since 2014 so I'm fuckin excited

I'm sure it will be like that, by the way in the case of WMG I don't know much but they are associated to move TMV music

its being added to streaming services which is pretty nice imo

Sorry to be such a zoomer but I barely listen to music that isn't on Spotify
