Squarepusher > Aphex Twin for me any day of the fucking week, just because i love Tom's bass playing, it's ridiculous.

I have the Ultravisitor album, (the best money can buy) and the new one Hello Everything. (not as good, it's softer and fluffier).

Also am a huge fan of Photek, although his shit is hard to come buy, i only have the Solaris album, but that is really good.

www.photekproductions.com

also, B of C is just beautiful. if you don't have 'Music Has The Right to Children', GET IT NOW.

also.....Ladytron is a HUGE MUST.

Depends on what you like ... electronica is ... well ... as precise as the term "guitar driven music".

I'd recommend:

Mouse on Mars (weirdos ... but great weirdos)
Isolée (great and soft minimal)
Alexandre Bilodeau (deep techno stuff ... albums can be downloaded for free)
Trentemĝller (minimal but pretty emotional electronica)
Modeselektor (pretty weird, but very kewl ... they produce anything from hardcore techno to weirdo electronica)

go with this guy

ladytron and squarepusher.

I forgot Lamb. I should be shot. Soft, gentle, soaring electroic harmonies and gliding bass lines, very tranquil and relaxing. Like B of C, but with Bjork's vocals.

Between Darkness and Wonder.

Max Tundra is hot shit. I just made a house/ambience music thread and listed some good stuff (anyways back to max tundra), he's one of the more interesting in that you can get tons of albums from him. With his studio work, his live recordings and remixes, and unlike a lot of bands, he's remixes are fucking sweet!

www.myspace.com/maxtundra

But yeah, unfortunately with techno, there is tons of garbage out there! and once people accept that aphex twin isn't the only person doing great things in techno, there's a whole world of great music.

I've recently been getting into the dubstep genre, a more electronic version of British grime.

Check out Boxcutter for an example. Very cool.

that's from his 2006 album, 'Hello Everything' and i personally like that track, but even off of that album 'Welcome to Europe' is dirtier, darker and more haunting (NOT in a Venetian Snares way though, he's just not that 'Warped' - excuse the pun)

but, off of 'Ultravisitor', listen to '50 Cycles', that sounds like nasty Massive Attack mixed with Aphex Twin, or even the track 'Steinbolt', now that is just nasty, tin-like noise, but wonderful - maybe the track most like Venetian Snares.

Squarepusher all the way! I especially recommend "Hard Normal Daddy"
because of its ridiculous fusion antics.

also check out AFX-"Hangable Auto Bulb" its eairlier Richard D. James and one of his best ever.
