It's funny, at the show I went to, they played Dracula Mountain twice. First it was them covering Muse covering Dracula Mountain, then they actually played the song.

whenever I hear any mention of this band all I can think of is Todd from Shellac saying "yeah Lightning Bolt, you'll be singing their songs in the shower in ten years time won't you? Pretentious fucks"

makes me laugh

I really don't like the new album, except for Dead Cowboy.

I think the new album is pretty banging, but then again, I don't think it was very hard to please me, when it comes to this band.

But I'd definitely say that they've tempered their edge a bit...But I've only listened to the album through once. So I'll reserve a little judgement until the fourth or fifth listen...

I'd say it's good - vintage Lightning Bolt, but not really that different. There are a lot of cool, crazy moments though, on songs like "Mega Ghost," "Infinity Farm" and so forth...

It's true it's not a huge leap, but they really improve on their formulae and modify it enough to keep things interesting. If it was that different, it would probably suck.
