I don't know how to describe. Just listen:

http://www.myspace.com/brucepeninsula

They have just released their first album: A Mountain is a Mouth. And its phenomenal. I just got back from their show, nothing short of amazing. And all the reviews have said the same...they are getting alot of publicity and great press.

Check them out.

I don't know why I came into this topic, I think I expected another singer-songwriter recommendation. Then when I went to myspace I thought "oh no, not another Arcade Fire clone" (the "original" is crap enough as it is already but I seem to be alone in thinking that). What a nice surprise! These guys sound great, I really want to buy the album.

If they get international distribution and you hear about it, then please post in here.

If they get international distribution and you hear about it, then please post in here.

I'll ask one of the band members about this and let you know.

You can stream their entire album at: http://radio3.cbc.ca...Bruce-Peninsula check Shanty Song (CBC Radio3 one of the greatest internet radio stations....ever)

Honestly, each of the singers in the "female choir" are sooo skilled on their own that its no wonder they sound so good. So much so that one of them left to pursue her solo, as its been really taking off. And most of them are in other bands. Its cool too because the choir line stands in the middle and on each side are the two guitarers who jam out while they wail out at various parts. And behind that long line is the bassist and drummer who keep it down. It looked cool, visually.

This is a live one where one of the founders, the singer, Misha takes the lead: and it shows you how they weave those classic folk "back and forth" tunes almost attached to the song.

Lastly you can purchase MP3/FLAC/CD from here (for outside Canada delivery): http://www.zunior.co...cfdbaa380981284

Nice, a Bruce Peninsula thread. Haven't seen this one before here, but this is one of the best things I've heard. Right now, their album is my favourite of this year yet.

Heard about them all way in Netherlands? Awesome!

I can definitely see this band really gaining large momentum and recognition over the next year.

Those are really beautiful, and they seem like nice people too. Thanks!

And I agree with you, it's strange to not hear 'Satisfied' directly after '2nd 4th World War' finished.

dorm room we can inhabit for the night. We have some places already but we are still scratching our heads about Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Regina, Quebec City and maybe Ottawa. Leave a comment or email us at brucepeninsula@gmail.com

Holy shit, that was the best show i have seen from them. Their new stuff honestly sounds like Mars Volta but with a powerful choir instead of lead screeching guitar. Time sigs, key changes...all that dank. Its like pro-g-ospel

PS. Australia you guys may be hit by the BP early next year. And maybe even Italy? (he said Italians have been buying up their album like crazy and calling from them to play there).

*The latter two are the progospel ones. Soo sick.

Saw these motherfuckers a while ago in Montreal. They came the other week too, but I was hanging out with the band at the Dead Weather show.

Check this vid I posted:

Its not often that you get Michael Smith (Muskox) joining Bruce Peninsula, nor getting Isla Craig back on primary backing vocals. So, I thought I'd dig back and share this gem. Also in this rendition, Misha Bower takes the lead call on Satisfied (as oppose to Neil Haverty). [Sorry about the shakiness and not being the best white-balancer].

The last two mins of Steamroller from LOLA fest:

Anyways, I saw them again on Friday and damn they can gain quite a large crowd in their surrounding hometown area. I told the guitarists that they should jam and stretch out this section (right before the "greatest forest fire" starts) haha and they agreed.

Oh and this is the most informative track by track on the album ever: http://www.thelineof...ain-is-a-mouth/

http://www.bruce-peninsula.com/ facelift! YOU CAN STREAM ALL THEIR MUSIC

Yo check this song that was put out on a compilation: http://www.bruce-pen.../bellwoods.html don't judge it right away let it build up. it reminds me of BP's version of a mellow Tetragrammaton verse
