I figured I would make an official thread for requests and any other things dealing with lossless media. I always find something that I want to recommend, but putting it in a thread with a bunch of pages won't be seen as easily as something like this. Also, it is always nice to see what people's interests are as far as boots go. I will start it out with a few torrents I am getting today! (if you don't have an account, the best time to try and get one is by waiting for the site to do mainstenance, which is almost everyday, and once the site goes back on try to register for an account, worked for thegrouch.) Please do post torrents of interest, as we could get more seeds open this way for some older stuff.

Before asking, dimeadozen doesn't have invites.

Also AlSirat has a very good pointer for getting a dimeadozen account: "i recommend bookmarking the signup page, or putting it under the address bar on firefox, and just going to it every 5 or 10 minutes

thats how i did it"

ALSO, I just added the traders den to this thread as well, mine as well, it has amazing boots as well. I hadn't used in a long time until the catalyst show and I just recently uploaded some yes, I am going to upload the entire 10 cd box by the end of next month!

thanks Mrs.Pissy as I included purelivegigs for the thread as well, I didn't know about the place until now. From stuff uploaded recently, it looks like a great site.

Record Notes: Recorded from stereo mics clipped to hat 6 ft. from the ground spaced 6 inches apart.
The show was recorded about 80 ft back from stage in the right balcony in the audience. My iRiver
record level was set to 2 and my volume input level on my battery box at 75%.

Show Notes: They started off with no opener. The crowd cheered in anticipation when they heard
the Fistfull anthem. They played mostly new songs in the beginning of the show. The songs sounded
good, as I have not heard the new unreleased album yet like much of the crowd obviously had. The
crowd new the new songs. Omar had a bit of tech trouble a few times during the show. It really cut
in to the drawn-out jam feel of their typical style show. Track No. 9 off of disc 1 was one of the
better songs from the new Amputechture album.

Once again, the recording will hopefully fill you in. Anyway the show was good and it
sounds great, it was an excellent venue for recording and I hope you enjoy it!

By request, here is a show from Zep's brief European tour in the Spring of 1970. The band's second album had been out for several months and they would finish work on the third album later that spring. This show in Hamburg was the 5th in 5 nights. The busy touring schedule would continue later in March when Zep embarked on a month-long 25-city North American tour.

IMO the overall sound quality of this boot rates a Good. It starts out a bit muddied, but clears up very well a couple songs in before going muddy again near the very end of the tape. The music is a little distant, with some bass overload being the main issue, and Plant's voice is to the back of the mix. There is some tape hiss and a few times when the taper's voices intrude on the music. The performance itself is solid, if not particularly inspired; Zep in their prime means a strong Plant, a fast, clean, and creative Page, and as always a rock-solid rhythm section. I really liked the band's work on SIBLY, Thank You and HMMT. The sound on this is quite clear enough to enjoy the fine concert.

Thanks to Pieter for sharing this.

Led Zeppelin

Next request is the only circulating boot from the July 1970 tour of Germany. The group had taken 2 months off the road after the Spring 70 US tour. They finished work on their third album and then played a concert in Iceland June 22, a triumphant show at the UK Bath Festival on June 28, and finally this brief tour of Germany, before more extensive tours of the US, Japan, and the UK later that year. It's a shame this Berlin show is all we have of that short German tour. The group was still in their prime and give a very good performance here. This was the 2nd tour of Germany that year (along with dates in March). They toured Germany only twice more in the next 10 years - their legendary shows in March 73 and their last tour in June-July 1980.

IMO this boot rates a solid good for sound quality. There are several issues to keep it from grading higher: there is bass overload throughout, that instrument up front, then Page's guitar, then Plant, and the drums in the back of the mix. The sound is somewhat muffled and there is noticeable tape hiss which varies in intensity. But on the good side, the music that does come through is easy to enjoy, Page's guitar gives a thick, heavy sound, his solos very clear. I recommend this one to the casual Zep fan, good quality sound of a great show.

Note: The date of this show is sometimes listed as July 12, but since the original info file says the 19th and The Concert File lists no show on the 12th, I'll go with 19th unless someone can come up with a ticket stub or review or something.

Thanks to pernod for sharing this.

At the request of some "Vintage Yes" Here is a good Solos tour show. I had a nice '74 show (Boston Gardens) lined up, but it turned out to be MP3 sourced. Oh well. Again, one of the later dates where most of the solo material was dropped in favour
of more Yes-friendly choices. This is also the legendary gig, where Yes played to their biggest audience to date
in the massive JFK Stadium. The batteries die about 26 minutes into Ritual. It has listenable sound, likely 2nd or 3rd
gen. This tour Yes incorperated a wonderful laser show with the music.. would have loved to have seen ritual.

Tracklist:

Disc One:
Apocalypse
Siberian Khatru
Sound Chaser
I've Seen All Good People
Gates of Delirium
Clap
Long Distance Runaround
Moraz solo
Harp Solo

Disc Two:
Heart of the Sunrise
Ritual (fades after about 26 minutes, presumably due to dead batteries)

Lineup :
Jon Anderson (Vocals)
Steve Howe (Guitars)
Patrick Moraz (Keyboards)
Chris Squire (Bass)
Alan White (Drums)

Thanks to Forgotten Yesterdays so I didn't have to manually write everything ;)
