but since i can't find it, i'll make one.

the leak came out last year..but i think it was just released domestically in the US.

i think it's incredibly fun and enjoyable dance music with a positive retro feel.

and here's me plus one:

Heartbeat is my favorite. You have no choice but to get up and dance to it. Very infectious!

EXACTLY. That was by far my most listened to song of last year. Great album, and I can't wait to finally purchase it.

It sounds like a top 40 song, I wonder how many scensters would still be cool listening to it if it wasn't pimped by Pitchfork and the like.

You know you're right, cuz if we had never heard of it... then how could we be listening to it? That's a very good point you bring up, sir.

i give pitchfork music a shot..and i decide from there how good it is to me. it's a fucking starting point really because my friends around here listen to music i've already heard and that's a site that's updated daily.

and they really did it right on this album, i think.

Good popmusic is hard to come by. This is quality stuff, candy-coated production as well. I think my aunt knows her.

Agreed. Though, to me at least, the rest of the album doesn't even come close to "Heartbeat". One of my all-time favorite songs.

I don't like the 80's sound, but getting past that I can enjoy the melodies of heartbeat.

When I compared it to Top 40's, I don't neccesarily hate it, I can enjoy those songs for what they are, which can be ridiculously catchy, but often a calculated marketing ploy. I don't really care about the second part of it, but I guess I'm wondering how how popular this album among the indie kids would be if it got bad reviews from the big hitters like Pitchfork.

It's not that I don't like Pitchfork. I don't agree with a lot of their reviews, and there are sites I like more which I don't think get the same attention, but someone has to be number one. And the fact that they review 4 albums a day is always good. It's just they seem to be taste makers a lot of the time. If they pimp a record, a deluge of press and success seems to follow the band.

I don't see a lot of distinction between this record and a lot of Top 40's and 80's dance music, and I'm not saying you don't like the record, but that a lot of the indie kids just seem to be following trends.
