I have 35 free downloads at emusic.com, so I figure it's a good time to check out some solo Omar stuff. The only cd they have, though, is A Manual Dexterity. Is it any good? I listened to some 30 second samples and it was mostly wierd ambience.

I quite like it.
If you only get one song off of it, get The Palpitations Form A Limit

only get Palpatations if you want the most Mars Volta-ish song, as Cedric sings on it.

I think the album is amazing. It is actually very ambient, electronic-acoustic crazy-noises (idk  )...but I think it's great. Depends on what you like though, so don't get it just because it's Omar...I don't know, check it out.

Palpatations is a pretty stale song imo. Around Knuckle White Tile and Dyna Sark Arches are the best tracks by a long shot (dont dare disagree), followed closely by Here The Tame Go By, Blood Blue Blisters and Deus Ex Machina. A Dressing Failure is pretty cool too.

They're all good, except Sensory Decay. That's kind of annoying.
