i would count more on dvd at the end of the year, around xmas time and cd early next year. but it's just good news to hear that they are already full into it. interesting that it's going to be a lot heavier.

fucking awesome.

that would be sweet if they packaged it with the alex grey book.

as for carey's comments on the DVD, if tey say it's not gonan be your standard DVD, judging by the set fpr their Lateralus tour, it's gonan be fucking awesome.

it was the last 6-8 shows that were professionally recorded, with like 20 cameras. if they were playing third eye then, it will be on there.

In part, the aggressive vibe of the material has been a reaction to Tool's tours with thunderously intricate bands like Fantômas and Swedish death-prog band Meshuggah.

"[Fantômas singer] Mike Patton and [Fantômas/Slayer drummer] Dave Lombardo — those guys are a good, heavy influence," Carey said.

Ooh, Mike Patton and Slayer influences on the next Tool album. It's officially the best album ever.

meshuggah would be a good influence on a tool album.

puddle of mudd frequently quote led zeppelin as influences. their last album was supposedly "the heaviest shit we could do."
