i mean u could always leave after DG

i'm interested in how some of the 'new' live songs will sound. Particularly Say Hey Kid and Government Plates. I've never really seen much of what they do live but I'll prob check these songs out. Say Hey Kid sounded quite punky in that video

eh its part of a day fest type thing and tickets are like $70 or so, I'd rather wait for them to come around again and see them do 30 minutes more for $40 less and not have it be in a shit city like worcester massachusetts is

say hey kid does sound awesome for sure though, such a difference with the live drums

I remember being facebook friends with Zach Hill and being online literally the second he dropped the first Death Grips single. I thought he was just guesting on some weird rapper's shit. Turned out to be to him what Led Zeppelin is to Jimmy Page.

Literally same! Zach used to actually respond to my shit back then. It’s weird to be able to say I literally was there from the very start. Like I shared the full moon video right after it was posted.

Yes...you put me on to Death Grips. It was June of 2011, I think. I had broken up with my girlfriend and listening to them was one of the first times I felt alright.

Same.  I remember when Full Moon dropped and third worlds had pictures of dead babies or something like this.  Very different era of the band.  Being a Zach Hill fan getting into Death Grips is very different than hearing about them from Fantano.

Either way, I think its crazy that this is the band that made him successful.  I am happy for him though.  He was such a hard-working musician for years making fucking nothing for it.  I have to imagine with their tours and festivals he is doing ok for himself.  I always love it when musicians can live off of their artwork.  I wish it was more common.  I would totally be in favor of professional smaller scale touring artists getting money form the government for contributing art to the world.

10000% sure the government's choice of which bands to support would suck major balls, so, for the love of god, please no.

It's worth noting that the creation and distribution of music has gotten like a million times easier and cheaper in the last few decades.

True, but the money you make on music sales has tanked incredibly.
