Man, that album cover rules all. It's a work of art

Music is music, if Limits hears them as being a hardcore band good for limits. There are too many subgenres to care anymore.

What is this band? I've heard some good things about them, but I haven't heard anything by them yet... Are they one of those bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, with sick, growling vocals and thousands riffs in one song..? Or is there anything more to it? An extended description of their music would be appreciated. Thanks.

i downloaded the album, disliked it, deleted it the same day. They are nothing like DEP, they are nowhere near as technical or powerful or as impressive. They pale in comparison to bands like Isis and Neurosis. Nothing special whatsoever. I don't see what the fuss is about.

i have been a big Mastodon fan ever since i first heard 'Remission', but 'Leviathan' is a fucking opus! that record was easly the best slab of Metal released last year. they take a while to grow on most people, but once they get in, it's over. i got to talk with Troy and Brann after a show at Bogart's and they were cool as hell. i even got to burn one with them in the Fartbox(their tour van). Rip Your Lungs On Blood And Thunder, When You See The White Whale!!! long live Herman Melville(sp?) and long live Mastodon!!!

I like them a lot, both of their albums are really good but they're both so different. They have some of the best drumming I've ever heard.

Mastadon is pretty frikin good. They are alot different than DEP or ISIS, they strike me as more traditional metal in the Maiden/early Metallica sense. They rock pretty frikin hard.

I've noticed a lot of indie kids lump all metal bands together. Mastodon is nothing like DEP or Isis.

Mastodon writes some of the grooviest riffs available.
